  1. Just don't let any neighbors named "Edison" borrow it.
  2. Ahh, finally got it. (Not the Tesla; or the coil. Just the joke.) Although I wouldn't mind one if I could justify it. I'm still happy with my '14 MKZ-h.
  3. @GRY SQL, Just curious, doesn't CA allow you to transfer a plate to a new car?
  4. After retiring from cold, wet Milwaukee WI, we moved to Nevada. Ergo, nv Rick.
  5. Have you seen the commercial for the new MKC? When at an intersection, you can press a button and the Lincoln emblem in the front pushes out. It has two cameras and gives a 180 degree view on the lcd panel of the intersecting street. When I replace my MKZ, I hope (and assume) that this will be available within a few years on the MKZ.
  6. Actually, I find parking "front end in" to be a better option for me. If a large SUV parks next to me, I would not be able to see any traffic approaching. With the rear view camera and cross traffic alert, I can see (and hear) if a car is approaching. Hopefully, my next car will have the new front camera as in the new MKC so I'll be able to see traffic if I do back into a parking space.
  7. Over the years, due to accidental (and self-inflicted, lol) bodily abuse, I have lost most of the mobility in my neck. The BLIS, lane keeping assist, back up camera and cross traffic alert on my '14 MKZ-h has made driving less stressful. Many have disparaged some of the newer 'gimmicks', but I believe that these innovations have led to a safer driving environment. Seeing the commercial of the MKC, I believe, with the front cross traffic camera is making me hope this will be available in the MKZ when I am ready to trade in a few years. This would eliminate my last point of apprehension when at uncontrolled intersections.
  8. My current MKZ-h has easy to hear front, back and side alarms. My previous two MKS leases had very faint front alarms. I am hard of hearing, but those two were almost inaudible. I don't believe there is any way to adjust the volumes.
  9. I had something similar happen with my '14 MKZ-h. I had just filled up with gas, and when I tried to drive off, I had the same type of "surge" and stall. (It was about 6:30pm on New Years Eve and sixty miles from home). I got that sick feeling you get when you think you are in for a long difficult night. I shut the car off, restarted it, and haven't had a problem since. Nothing showed up in history and I wrote it off as a one time anomaly.
  10. Until I got my '14 MKZ-h I never understood how much remote start was worth it. Now instead of getting into the car when it is over 100 degrees inside (southern NV) the interior is nice and cool. It took me a while to remember to remotely start the car, but now it is almost second nature.
  11. Don't know about driving tests when older. But here in NV, the license is good for four years, (although my daughter's is good for eight years for some reason--maybe because I'm 68 years old). After four years, you can renew on line. After the next four years, you have to go to the DMV for an eye test. When I hit 72 for my next renewal, I really don't know what to expect.
  12. I used to have an opposite problem in my MKZ. When I would go to change the temp, I would sometimes change the radio station or hit the cd eject button. I am now aware of the situation and keep my fingers away from those controls.
  13. We generally get groceries in plastic bags which fit easily into the compartments. For larger items, the dividers can be folded against the back of the container. (They are held in place with Velcro tabs. The whole thing can be folded flat and laid on the trunk floor so that you can load things like suitcases or other large items.) I first learned about this item even before I bought our car and bought one within days of buying the car.
  14. Part #EE5Z-78115A00-A For some reason, I can't paste the internet address, but this is from the Ford accessories site. The insulated bag shown in the photo is a separately purchased item.
  15. Generally, the one on Marks, if we have other things to do on that side of town. Otherwise, we go to the one on Charleston.
