I had the dealer drive my car, the best he got was 36. They gave me Fords hotline number. I called to give a formal complaint as I am getting anywhere from 35 to 39 miles to the gallon. Not even close to the 47 they say. I had a nissan altima before this car which stated 32 mpg I always got anywhere from 29 to 32. So.. the lady I spoke with on the phone told me to hold for a few minutes. She returned to the phone and gave me some fuel efficiency tips. 1. Dont turn on a powered things ( radio, air, ) 2. Make sure tires are properly inflated 3. Keep the windows up as them being down creates resistance 4. clean your air filters Is she serious. I paid 32,000 for a new car that she wants me to drive around in 100 degree weather with the windows up and no air on. its 5 months old and she thinks my air filters are dirty. I told her she should also advise people to only drive downhill with with 80 mile an hour winds pushing them. oh and then she told me not to expect a response they only use this info for researching purposes. Dont get me wrong I love the car, hate that they flat out lied about MPG

Well....took my car in for the repairs, after months of listening to this noise and waiting for tsb. I go to pick it up and i'm told that when they took it apart i already had the thrust washers on my vehicle. Therefore they lubricated the parts and put it back together. As of now the noise is gone. I do remember hearing others say that they had tried this on their vehicles and the noise only returned later. Any thoughts???

Finally!! This noise was driving me crazy and was getting worse. Took long enough but happy to have a solution :))

When I gave the service man this number he said it is Not a TSB (techincal service bulletin) Number, is this exactly how it reads or is there anything missing. He said it usually has dashes in it. Maybe he just didn't want to help??

Does anyone on here have a TSB number for the issue. My local dealer says they are unaware of the problem? The need a technical service number. I am having the same problems and it does sound horrible.
