  1. I've been having problems lately with the Sony system not sounding like it used to. It lacks midrange punch and the clarity overall isn't what it used to be sometimes. When I go under the dash and pull the fuses for the radio, speaker amp, sub amp, and put them back in, it usually fixes the problem for a while. The thing is, the problem always comes back. I've tried the master reset but that doesn't seem to fix the problem. Has anyone else had anything similar to this happen?
  2. But why would it say microphone 2 not present?
  3. When I go under the configuration settings (holding down the right search button on the steering wheel and the eject button on the CD player), I can eventually get to a screen that says "Configuration Status." I completely forget how I navigated to get there. Anyway, on that screen the first listing is "Microphone 2: Not Present." Does anyone have any clue what's up with that? I'm supposed to have noise cancellation in the car but now I'm worried that there is a microphone or several microphones missing. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks!
  4. I forgot to update this. I had the two fuses that were connected to the radio/my ford touch pulled. As soon as they were put back in the system rebooted and everything worked again.
  5. Thanks for the help! I'm going to try to take it to the dealer tomorrow with this info. And I envy you Waldo. I had a 2013 that I had sent back to Ford after the smelly a/c debacle that a handful of us on this forum suffered. I got a 2014 in its place. Both of those cars had countless rattles. I figured it was just something with the build of the car, but I guess I am the lucky recipient of two duds.
  6. I'm having a strange problem that just started last night. I should start by saying I have a 2014 FFH with My Ford Touch and Sync 2. When I turn on my heat (in Auto mode or manual mode, and after the car has reached temp to blow hot air), the air comes out the top vents and is cold. It seems to just be blowing the outside air in, and at full blast (when in auto). When I turn the temp up to the "HI" setting, the vents switch to the lower vents and blow out somewhat hot air. If I hit the temp button and go down one degree from "HI" to "85F" or lower, the air comes back out of the upper vents and is cold. The Temperature gauge shows the engine temp right in the middle zone, so the car is heating up correctly. i took it to a local Ford dealer for the service rep to look at, he said he's never seen anything like it. The same thing happens in manual mode but the air only blows as hard as the fan setting is set to. 1. I'm wondering if anyone has any clue what this could be. 2. I'm also wondering if this is something that would be covered under the My Ford Touch Warranty that Ford extended (my warranty expired earlier this year). My car isn't even 3 years old and has countless rattles and now this ;(. It's not exactly making me want to ever buy a Ford again.
  7. I have the same problem. I've found if I hold on to the middle console arm on the passenger side (does this make any sense?) then it goes away. That arm (there is one on each side of the middle console) that connects the center console up to the stereo area. Hopefully that made sense. But I think it has something to do with that. I am unsure how to make it stop buzzing though, the only way I can make it stop is if I hold onto that arm while it's happening. It happens only at a certain RPM too just like others have said.
  8. I used Sync 3 in an Escape loaner when I took my car in for service. It is faster but I don't find it that much better than Sync 2 to justify the cost of the upgrade. If it was able to use Apple CarPlay then maybe I would think about it.
  9. Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I am still having it and my dealer whom was supposed to look into it never called me back to try to find an answer. I'm going to address it at my next service which is the 36,000 mile checkup. I have noticed (which I never looked at before) that when this happens, the front door lock lights stay lit but the rear door lock lights go off. Anyone have an idea what that could indicate as it relates to the problem?
  10. My question with the two small screens in the dash is if the look of them would change, or will it still look like Sync 2? The colors on the right dash screen coincide with the colors of the Sync 2 main screen (i.e. radio is red, navigation is green, phone is yellow and climate is blue). I know the color scheme of Sync 3 is completely different than Sync 2. Since I assume some of the menus in the Sync 3 system are different I also wondered if those menu options would appear on the dash or if there would be some kind of incompatibility with the dash setup.
  11. All of the rattles and squeaks etc are covered up until the 36k warranty ends, correct? If so I need to get my car over to the dealer and make sure they fix ALL of the rattles and squeaks and annoyances before I hit that (which will probably be in the next few months).
  12. Someone posted this on another Ford forum about the extended warranty. It sounds like A LOT of stuff isn't covered! Is this the same for the Ford Flood ESP PremiumCare? I assume it is. Components Not Covered by Ford ESP PremiumCare Mechanical: Service adjustments/cleaning; battery/cables, batteries of all types, belts, hoses, Brakes (front hub, drums, shoes, lining, disc rotors and pads); coolant; exhaust system (including catalytic converter); lights (bulbs, sealed beam and lenses); filters, fluids, lubricants, compressed natural gas/liquid propane fuel system components, manual clutch disc, shock absorbers, spark plugs/wires; squeaks and rattles, tires, tune-ups, wheel balancing, wheel alignment, wheel studs, wiper blades. Exterior Service adjustments (glass and body parts); bright metal, bumpers, door handles, glass, moldings, ornamentation, structural underbody framework, paint, rust, sheet metal; sideview mirrors (glass, housing); water leaks, weatherstrip, wheel wheel studs, covers/ornaments; wind noise, convertible top, fabric, liners, zippers and fastners. Interior Buttons, carpet, dash pad, door and window handles, knobs; rearview mirror (glass, housing); trim, upholstery.
  13. Uh oh, so the ESP's don't cover rattles? I've had rattles basically the entire time I've had this cars and they never seem to fix it. Awesome.
  14. Has anyone actually done the aftermarket upgrade from Sync 2 to Sync 3? I'm wondering if the two small screens on the dash are linked to the main touchscreen. If so, do those smaller screens change? If they aren't linked then does that mean things like navigation, radio, etc., won't show up on the dash screens? I wrote the company asking this question and they never responded.
  15. Does everyone pretty much agree that Ford Flood ESP is the best price out there? I'm getting close to my 36k mark and need to buy an extended plan.
