A few days ago, I was in an automatic car wash with my 2013 HyTi and my daughter (who was sitting in the passenger seat) said, "Cool!" and pointed to the MFT screen. The rear view camera was showing a view of the car wash on the MFT screen. I double checked my gear shifter, and it was in Neutral, as it should be when the car wash's rollers push the vehicle along the path. You can see in the picture below that the dashboard shows the vehicle in Neutral, but the rear view camera is on and showing the car wash. Why would the HyTi do this? When the car wash was complete, I put the car in drive and the camera view went away.

Sorry to report that my ambient lighting switched from orange to blue again on its own. An interesting note: when I went to the settings screen in MFT, and then the ambient lighting, the orange globe was shown but then it immediately rotated to the blue globe without any input from me.

Daytime Running lights?
Former Expedition owner replied to Ric's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
I got my DRL's turned on at the same dealer I bought the car from. I custom ordered my HyTi from this dealer. The dates of my order and delivery are in my signature. It was not a fleet purchase. -
Daytime Running lights?
Former Expedition owner replied to Ric's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
I called my insurance company this morning and had them note that I have daytime running lights on my '13 HyTi. This reduced my annual premium by $17. -
I brought my '13 HyTi in for an oil change today and requested they investigate my ambient lighting changing color on its own. Here's what it says on my receipt: I have yet to see if this solves the problem. Time will tell.

Daytime Running lights?
Former Expedition owner replied to Ric's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
I picked up my '13 HyTi at the dealer today after an oil change and can report that they turned on the daytime running lights for no charge. I included a copy of GrySql's post in the night time drop envelope with my key. No calls, no questions, no excuses, just done. No problem! -
Daytime Running lights?
Former Expedition owner replied to Ric's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
I'm bringing my '13 FFHTi in for it's first oil change tomorrow and will be asking them to turn on the daytime running lights. I have a copy of GrySql's post with the Body Control Module>Daylight Running Lamps>program Module>Re-test location to provide to the Service Dept. -
The ambient light reset issue has happened to me a few more times since my initial post. I don't see where the ambient light issue is addressed in the TSB for window up/down.

I saw the RGB one listed on their website. It states there are four wires, a positive and 3 negatives. Really need a lighting/wiring expert to chime in with the proper wiring method. Maybe I'll send a note to the LED manufacturer to see if they can help.

I believe the 12v LEDs that Corncobs used had two wires, power and ground. If I tapped into the existing power & ground from the existing ambient lighting system, would that work? I'm no electrician, but I can perform handyman type electrical wiring like adding an outlet or wiring in a switch. I pulled off the lower black plastic trim piece on the driver's side of the center console and saw the light pipe Murphy describes leading to the light in the center console storage area, under the dashboard. I'll probably have to pull off more of the trim pieces to determine where the wires are that lead to the LED that supplies the light pipe. Corncobs, where did you end up placing the LED in the cup holders? Beneath the rear spring clip in the cup holder?

Yes, I have looked at your posts in that thread. After seeing your photo with the water bottle in the LED lit cupholder, I wanted to give it a try. (We were supposed to get the LED cup holders with the Titanium) Since I have the Titanium (and the factory installed ambient lighting), I would like to add just one LED in each cup holder to the existing ambient lighting. I was hoping another FFH Ti owner had already done this and could post pictures and an explanation how to do it. I could just buy two of the LEDs that you did, but I'm looking for details on how/where to wire them into the existing lighting.

Thank you for replying and providing the link. However, your link to the Energi forum is for installing a separate lighting system controlled by several additional switches. Also, I cannot open the photos you posted there, likely because I am not a member of the Energi forum. I was hoping someone had already added cup holder LEDs to the existing ambient lighting system. I was interested in learning how and where to attach the wiring for these new LEDs to the existing system. I'll even concede the fact that the new cupholder LEDs will not change colors similar to the factory installed LEDs.

I'd be appreciative if someone can outline how to add LEDs to the cup holders on a HyTi that has the factory installed Ambient Lighting system.

I have a HyTi w/Nav & MFT and set the Ambient Lighting color to orange the day I picked it up from the dealer in April. At least a half dozen times, I have noticed that the lighting was changed back to blue without any input from me. I am the only one who drives the HyTi. I'll change the Ambient Lighting back to orange, but a few weeks later, I find it set to blue again. Has anyone else experienced this? What would cause this? Thanks.

Added LED DRLs into the fog light cover
Former Expedition owner replied to corncobs's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I like the look of the LEDs for DRL. Where would I wire in the LEDs so they act as DAYTIME running lamps, and not illuminate after dusk when the headlights are on? -
2014 Titanium Hybrid Standard 18" Wheel Data Needed
Former Expedition owner replied to hecep's topic in Wheels & Tires
I put the 19" H-Spoke rims on my 2013 HyTi. You can read all about it here: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52837-19-h-spoke-wheels-on-hybrid-titanium/page-2&do=findComment&comment=845314 -
Trailer Hitch
Former Expedition owner replied to QuoVadis69's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
I installed the Curt Hitch today. Took about an hour. I didn't jack the car up and it would have went faster with a second set of hands. Bought it at AutoAnything.com for $98.68, free shipping, no sales tax. I believe there was a 15% off sale. Ordered on Wednesday, was at my house on Friday. Shipped from the Curt factory in Allentown, PA via FedEx. Here are some photos before I started installation. Another photo from before with the actual hitch. A couple of photos after the installation. You barely notice the receiver. And a couple of photos with the bike rack and bikes. -
Windshield
Former Expedition owner replied to Osofast's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
When I drive to work in the morning, I open the sunroof and put the rear windows down 2". Both my front and rear windows repeatedly fog up. Why? No idea since there is fresh air coming into the vehicle. The rear window defroster clears the rear window up. I'll put the front defroster on and it will clear up the inside of the window, but after a few minutes, dew forms on the outside of the front windshield that I can only get rid of with the wipers. Add this to the fact that if I just press the front defroster button to turn it off, somehow the A/C turns on, even though the A/C light is not illuminated. I have to press A/C, Max A/C, then A/C again to turn off the A/C that I never turned on in the first place. Then the fan is set at full blast and I have to manually turn that down. There is something very quirky with the fogging issues AND how the front defroster - A/C operates. -
I drove for 16 miles in my HyTi yesterday after I received the "0 miles to empty" message. When I filled up, I could only fit 12.8 gallons in the tank.
