I'm glad you don't. When I see a guy driving one, I feel pity for them. They just seem so emasculating now. There's only so much I would do in the name of mpg. The new Fusion (even the last gen Fusion) Hybrid has changed that. Not to mention that the new FFH are more eco-conscious than even the Prius is, especially if you drive a FFH with cloth seating! In my limited driving experience I will say that the FFH left me in a more relaxed state and frame of mind than I can recall driving a car. I felt rewarded. That's what a car (especially a Hybrid) should do. Hmmm maybe if I roll the FFH with the 19 in h-spoke wheels...

I use Autogeek products. I specifically like Wolfgang Sealant and their polish enhancer/old sealant remover. I use: Wash: DP Shampoo with MF bone. Natural sea sponge for the nice car, MF waffle cloth to dry. I use black MF cloths for wheels. Clay Bar: DP rinseless wash/gloss with water for lubricant, Pinnacle clay or Meguiars Clay, MF edgeless cloth to dry after claybar Polish & Sealant: Wolfgang Paintwork Polish Enhancer w/gray buffing pad, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant w/ Red Pad, wait 45 min, buff clean with MF cloth 12 cure time. Next day admire and appreciate your work. :) Should last you 3 months easy. Winter Washing: Bucket with semi-hot water and DP Rinseless Wash and gloss and MF washing cloth. Great in getting the excess salt off after a storm or when it's way to cold to wash or avoid using the auto wash. Sometimes I go in the touchless auto washes. Interior: I use Pinnacle and Wolfgang care products. Pinnacle's vinyl restorer gives your dash a matte/satin sheen to it instead of that typical Armor All (over)glossy shine. Pinnacle is highly recommended! Carpet cleaner: DP Carpet & Upholstry cleaner. Great for home use too! Seriously! It works lol! Don't let it sit and wait too long however.

With the FFH that may happen. It'll take a while however. I still see Camry's like wildfire around here lol! almost as bad as my Corolla. :banghead:

I think they're going to be VERY popular around the DC area (NoVA, Central MD, etc.)

I have seen them and I must say, if you want to own a fusion that states, "It's a Hybrid" the Ice Storm Metallic color does it very well and very elegantly. Pair it with the 18" Luxury SE silver wheels and be rewarded with a very nice and elegant looking car! I have seen the Dune interior as well as my test drive vehicle was a Ruby Red w/Dune interior. I liked it.

Titanium trim models will have the better looking tail lights at night. I believe the halo around the tail lights

Okay now I am seeing more Fusions. I saw 3 yesterday on my way to work. 1 of them was a white Hybrid. I saw one in Ginger Ale color too. Definitely not fond of that color... This is weird but it seems to as if Silver and the Grey color seem a little understated in the Fusions. Whites, black, reds and blues seem to make the car stand out more. At least in my eyes. Not to say that silver and gray are bad colors at all. But they seem to make the car blend in more with the rest of surrounding traffic.

My friend made a good recommendation. He said to rent both out, drive them around and get a good tank's worth of driving. It's really hard to gauge which car I would feel best in in just a 1.5 mile test drive. I have a trip in May that I can take advantage of with that.

One thing I don't like about VWs is their styling, lackluster IMO.

Thank you for the feedback everyone. It's certainly hard for me to decide. I may end up going for the 2.0L EB Ti model as it would be a great compromise between performance and economy. The FFH certainly did impress. Edit: Also the Park Assist is totally sweet! Makes parallel parking a cinch!

I feel it's great that you're taking a positive approach on this venture and trying to help others regarding this matter. Hopefully things work out for you and others that are in the same boat as you.

This is how I see it, gas-electric Hybrid vehicles are all about saving money on gas and less about the environment. One has to consider the environmental impact manufacturing the batteries in this car as well. That said, I believe that the FFH stands better for the environment over other gas-electric hybrids. If I'm not mistaken ford manufactures it's own batteries in-house. That alone will lower it environmental impact over Toyota Hybrid batteries as they are mined, manufactured and sold it different parts of the world.

Hey everyone, I've shown my face (well internet profile pic really lol) around here. When Ford came out with the 2013 Fusion and the Fusion Hybrid I quickly drew interest in its styling. In my opinion it's a fresh new flavor to the ever popular "Vanilla" mid-sized car segment. Anyhow I finally came around to test driving both a Fusion Titanium 2.0L EB and a SE (Luxury model) Hybrid. I must say both are very nice and very impressive cars. It was certainly weird for me driving a car without hearing the engine turn on. But I really liked it! The car is very quiet. Also, the CVT is very smooth and the car drives very well. The car certainly lives up to its review. I test drove a Red FFH with the dune leather interior. It's interior was very nice although I would personally prefer a black interior. In my test drive I reset the trip meter. In my brief test drive I was only getting like 19 mpg initially. I made I comment about getting worse mpg than a 2.0L EB lol. Yeah I know I just reset the trip meter so it takes a while. However, once I got on the open road, the mpgs started to climb. I liked the mpg video game you can play with the car. I was netting 97-100% braking score easily. Finding the sweet spot in braking and braking early isn't that hard. I can drive economically and I normally don't speed in my commutes anyways. I ended up with a 31.2 mpg score after my brief test drive. Not bad considering I did get on it 2 times. One thing that really left me wanting was power. Even though the FFH has power, you really have to lay it down to use it. I am considering the 2.0L EB Ti as well since I'm looking to get rid of both of my cars and only drive one. This is why I'm leaning now towards the 2L EB Ti model instead of the FFH. I wanted to see how the FFH compared to the 2.0L EB engine. I am a car enthusiast, and even though a Fusion may not be a sports car or a Mustang, it certainly is the best in its class in that regard (IMHO). I may look to getting a sports car even a Mustang in the future. I just wanted to share my thoughts. Part of me is still on the fence but the enthusiast side of me says to go for the 2.0L EB, even with driving 20-25k miles a year.

I would try to get into a HyTi. I think the Ti is what you want. Let them break it in with lifetime mileage close to advertised mileage, not that 30-something mpg.

It's like an ice snow sandwich. Well we are ending up with nothing. Best. Weekday. Drive. Home. From. Work. Ever.
-
And now it's just rain lol! Snowfall totals are dropping. 3-5 forecasted for toDAY. ToNIGHT another 1-3. So who knows really lol!
-
It always seems like every time a big snow comes I have to work. :banghead:

I'm starting to see more of them. Now it's just about 1 every time I'm on the road (except for early mornings).

That's around what I get in the Corolla. I guess I can expect the same fill-up rate (maybe 10-15% better) while driving a better car. Eh... :headscratch: I'd really like to see 400 miles/tank fill up. Getting an extra 70-80 miles per fill up would be great. That's an extra commute+ drive to gf's lol.
-
Congratulations! Hopefully this will solve your dilemma. I'm fairly certain you'll be on the upper end of the Titanium mileage (high 20s and possibly into the low 30s) since you know how to drive this car. And after the warranty you can even look into aftermarket tuning and possibly squeeze out a few more mpgs (1-2 more) and gain some power/torque to boot! My friend owns a 2010 SHO and he says that they typically keep these motors runing rich. It "might" be the same for the 2.0L EB. Keep us posted. Pers69, I think he meant tow but probably got too excited typing away his response lol.

I'll agree with hybridbear here regarding the number of postings. Let me try to not appear negative or condescending to you Acdii since I appreciate your contributions to the forums and I know you're a good guy that's just having a run of bad luck. Please try to keep your issue in one thread. Take it easy man, relax! I think having posts appear all over the place (sometimes in other people's threads) regarding the whole mileage issue kinda puts a bad vibe here on the forums. *It's also way easier to follow what's going on with you too! As I said before, I really do think there's been an early bad batch of under-performers ("Runts" of the litter so to speak - and it may have run off into the Cmax as well) and you unfortunately got stuck with one. It happens, especially very early in the model year. That's the risk you take getting in a brand new first year new generation model car. Remember this is a brand new model with a new power plant and shares very little (if anything really) with its predecessor (your other Fusion). My advice to you to avoid the situation in the future, go for the in between model year refresh (like the 2010-2012 Fusion) rather than getting a first year all new (generation) model. I'll keep reminding you that you are STILL getting better mileage than I am in my Corolla and look better driving it too! Yeah it sucks getting 12mpg less than what the EPA states and I'd be upset too if I was in your position. However, it hasn't even been a year yet. Do you really think Ford is going to admit having a problem with their new car? They are probably still trying to collect data on what's going on with these under-performers. I bet that's what they were doing with your car when the Ford Engineer looked at it. *They also have a Class Action Lawsuit to deal with. They are not going to do a massive press release saying that their cars are getting under-rated mileage and here's why yet. They will find out what's going on and get a TSB or recall on it. That's what happens. These things take time unfortunately. Which is why I'm holding off on purchasing a first year new gen model car. I've been there and done that with the Cougar. If your dealer is willing to work with you on getting you into a new Fusion that is not an under-performer, I'd look into that option. I think I've stated this before. Thank you hybridbear for speaking out on your car getting as advertised mileage! I appreciate it! Please keep posting! * - Edit

I feel that Titanium trim levels should have HIDs and nicer looking base wheels. But it seems like they may be trying to differentiate between Lincoln and Ford in this regard.

What is a DORA?

Well I have yet to order. But these are things the car I felt should have come with

I'm not a fan of having to clean beige interiors. I speak from experience!
