  1. I saw a Tesla meet at a restaurant. I typically see at least 1 on my commute every day.
  2. Pulled up next to a Fusion Hybrid (Ginger I believe) on my way home. I noticed the passenger checking out my car furiously. I did my "show off" jack rabbit launch off the light and proceeded to cruise from there. Then I noticed them kinda give chase and follow behind me. Love the Fusion love! lol
  3. Exactly. You HAVE to get the Active Park Assist option to get the front sensors. To be more accurate and go way beyond what I was trying to say, and to satisfy Waldo's inherit use of specifics, adding the Active Park Assist OPTION allows one to utilize the front sensors for other things besides parallel- park assist. Examples of using the front sensors are front-parking garage parking (Hey no more tennis balls hanging from your garage!), driving in tight spaces such as parking garages, alley ways, cities in general, etc. I'm just trying to help a fellow Fusion member out and show them what the options that they paid for can do to help provide value and usefulness. A $1000 option that appears to be only useful when parallel parking seems almost like a total waste. However, a $1000 option that provide parallel parking assist AND allows you to utilize the included front sensors for other driving scenarios makes the option that much more appealing.
  4. I've been informed about this. I'm keeping track of what happens with the K&N. Apparently Air Raid has or is developing a filter that's similar to the factory filter but allows higher velocity air flow with lower micron filtering. I might just go back to stock for the winter and spring, where it's needed most. Good to know about the AEM, thanks!
  5. Couldn't tell you, I wasn't the one flooring it... ;)
  6. Congrats! One thing that people tend to overlook regard the Active Park Assist feature, is the ability to use the front sensors full time. This is great for just garage parking or close quarters parking in general. Since you're in the Northern VA area, I'm sure you're familiar with close quarters parking and tight garage parking spaces.
  7. I noticed a drop in fuel efficiency as well. Then I installed a K&N replacement panel filter. MPGs have gone back up (Indicated, I'm still on my first tank on it). So far this might be a viable option for FFH member. Not sure if K&N has a replacement filter for you guys yet. If not they should!
  8. If you own a gen 1 Fusion Hybrid trying to play, "I'm the Alpha male so I gotta be in front of you" while on the 2 lane on-ramp against a 2.0L EcoBoost AWD Fusion, you might be wasting fuel.
  9. My car sits in a parking lot at the National Institutes of Health in a fairly big area. Judging by some of the looks of passers walking by, I think that I may have helped Ford out.
  10. This. You can pick up a used iPhone for fairly cheap. Pick up a used 4s or maybe even a 5 depending on your budget. That way you shouldn't have to worry about your plan. Well hopefully.
  11. Or a split AWD setup, V6 FWD or RWD with electric assisted RWD or FWD.
  12. I didn't know the transmission setup was bad on the Q50 hybrid. It's an evolving process. In due time it'll get perfected.
  13. I don't rely on consumer reports. I perform my own research and come to my own conclusions. Fact is MFT, as buggy as it has been, is covered under a 5 year warranty, is updateable and can be learned. I LOVE the touch sensitive buttons. After all, they're on tablets and smartphones now right?
  14. Same here. I may have purchased a Q50 hybrid. Have power and the fuel efficiency of a compact car? Yes please! Oh well. This is a pretty valid argument. Let's visit the opposite end of the spectrum. Tesla. Tesla offers different options in battery and electric motor. Take the P85 option. Do you "need" to have a 0-60mph time of 4.2 seconds? Wouldn't the 5.4 second 0-60 mph time of the 65 and 85 kW battery option suffice? After all, all you're doing is "wasting battery charge". Which brings me to my point. It's not all about the numbers. Not everyone is performing calculations, having their budgets on spreadsheets or counting beans. Most people also factor in something that cannot be measured by any mathmatical means, smiles per gallon (or in Tesla's case smiles per charge). Then there's another point that was brought up on the 2G Fusions forum. What's the first car you think of when you hear Hybrid (Besides the FFH over here lol)? The Prius. Not everyone is fond of the Prius. It has gotten a social stigma of being the "evironmentalist's ego show boat of choice" name on it, even if it saves a lot of money for gas for people who just want to maintain a low gas budget. Some people don't wish to be associated with that kind of a stigma. It'll work it's way out, but it's not all about the numbers for a lot of people which is my point. Things will eventually change, Hybrid (and Electric) vehicles will eventually improve even further and we will get better vehicles selections. Thank goodness for choices now!
