  1. This link shows they can be had for a decent price.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-FORD-EDGE...sspagenameZWDVW
  2. Post #19 stated ..Ebay, price was for wheels and centercaps only. Purchased 4 tires for about $650. So basically the set-up you see I was still under $1,000 for everything. Once for each car. I have two sets of 17" Fusion original wheels and tires if anyone is interested!! LOL
  3. I wasn't concerned with the Edge tire size... I was actually trying to stay within the same specs as the original FUSION wheel/tire combo which was a 225/50/17. All I did was go to a 225/45/18. This is the same set-up (size wise) that is being offered on the 2008 Fusion SAP sport appearance package.
  4. Not sure what Ford wants for each wheel, but maybe you misunderstood my previous post... The first set cost me 350.00 divided by 4 = 87.50 each (Shipping included in that price) The second set cost 310.00 divided by 4 = 77.50 each (Shipping included in that price) Seems quite a bit better than $200 each.
  5. According to their pricing they want $800.00 for a set (4) :headspin:
  6. SMALLBIGTALL, There are a couple of options... One, as stated is Ebay, and the other is possibly your local dealer. The dealer I use will install rims other than factory rims if a customer so desires. Therefore they have Mustang, Fusion, and Edge wheels in their parts dept. for 're-sale'. Most do not advertise this so you may have to ask them. My dealer is a large volume dealer and usually has a few sets around. They did not have an Edge set when I wanted them so I opted for the Ebay route. I have purchased TWO sets from E-bay with zero problems. First set (of 4) cost me $350.00 and the second set (of 4) cost me $310.00. Those prices were for rims and centercaps only. Good luck with your search..use keyword- 'ford edge wheels' on your auction hunt.
  7. :hysterical2: Pipe down Barney Fiffe..we can't go 'round restin people on the innernet. But Andy, what is this innernet you speak of? I'll have Aunt B splain it to ya.
  8. 2008 SEL will come standard with them.... at least that way they are integrated into the door instead of the theif being able to pry off the whole keypad assembly with little effort. Easy to do with just 3M tape holding it on. No to get sidetracked, but.. In recent years Toyota keys have the least amount of different key combinations and are the easiest to duplicate. I'll stop now before I incriminate myself.
  9. The 2-hour time frame reference wasn't for reading just the blog. It was to inquire into the De Bruijn graph/sequence (a mathematician). This link below will scratch the surface if you are inclined to take an interest in it. http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1520430 Didn't mean to infer that the blog was 'the be all and end all' of keyless entry pads, this is the internet, just as some statements and info on this forum are not factual. It's up to each individual to read and decipher through what they want to believe. I'm not trying to force my opinion on anyone just stating another reason why I don't prefer to use or have a desire for the keyless pads just as those above have stated why they like the keyless pads. As with anything ..such as stolen cars.. minimizing the risk is the first step. The keypad will only keep the honest person honest and it is a much quieter and less conspicuous way for a thief to enter a vehicle vs. breaking a window or to destroy the actual lock. On a sidenote the keyless pad is only 1/2 as effective as it appears to be in regards to having 10 numerals present on the keypad. Last time I had one on a vehicle the manual stated that you could not use a code with the next digit on the keypad or a double number in the next position..such as 34795 or 56779. If the 3/4 are on the same button this code is not valid. If that is the case then one effectively only has a 5-numeral keypad. Another thought is the factory keyless pads are tied-in the the vehicles electrical system of which you would have some early warning if you began to have 12 volt problems.. This 3M applied version is more than likely battery operated at that price so in two years when coming back from a kayaking trip and you press your code in and the 'hearing-aide' style battery is dead good luck finding one of those in the middle of the forest. Oh well, to each is own.. don't shoot the messenger. B) Happy motoring :beerchug:
  10. Not trying to argue, just trying to help. Keyless entry pads are old technology that can be beaten. If you must have one DO NOT leave your keys in the vehicle. When you have a couple hours you can read the following... http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2006...ng_keyless.html
  11. I guess its what you get used to.. Sounds as if you are going somewhere once you open the Aviator doors with the keypad you still need to ask your wife for her key. Unless you just need them open in the garage or driveway.... also I think the owners manual on some models tell you how to set your own 'personal code'. What's to keep someone else or a car thief from using this procedure to set his own code to get inside your car with the keys in it?
  12. 2 of my last Ford vehicles had the factory keyless entry system. Save your money as I had never used either one not even one time. I never even put in my own 'code'. I see no need for this option on any vehicle other than to retrieve your keys that you may have locked inside the vehicle. Seems redundant if you have a keyfob with the lock and unlock buttons integrated into it.
  13. MRT has started using a picture of my vehicle on their website to promote their Fusion hood. It can be viewed by clicking the link below which takes you to their Fusion hood section of the website. My car is shown directly under the hood ordering information... :camera: http://mrt-direct.com/concept/appearance/Fusion/index.php
  14. That might put me in the 'ricer' category if I do that. :waiting:
  15. Fortunately I live were a front tag isn't required; Unfortunately the dealer had to get the car from another state as he didn't have one the way I wanted it optioned. Therefore the tag bracket holes were already on the car when I took delivery and this was a better alternative than riding around with the holes in the bumper or trying to cover them with plastic caps. That will probably get changed in the near future when I think of something better but for now I am open to any ideas. I may wait until I get more rock chips in the front fascia and have the holes filled in and repaint the entire front fascia. :banghead: Here is a better 'angle' shot....
  16. It was actually a fairly easy swap. All existing hardware (i.e. windshield washer nozzles, hood latch, hood rubber seals) attaches to the new hood. The new hood also came with pre-routed hosing for the windshield wiper spray nozzles so underneath is kept very clean as the wiper hoses are hidden between the two halves (upper and lower) of the hood. The body/paint shop does alot of aftermarket work and commented it was one of the highest quality aftermarket hoods they have seen. It also has a factory style molded pocket for the original prop-rod.
  17. Here is the latest addition to my AWD '07 Fusion.. MRT (Mustang Racing Technologies) has started to make some components for the Ford Fusion with the first offering being a new dual intake hood designed for the Fusion platform (non-fuctional directing to air filter but does allow outside air to enter the hood) www.mrt-direct.com I just got mine back from the body shop today and installed on the car this afternoon. I requested my paint shop to do Oxford white with the intake 'pockets' painted flat-black and below is the result...
  18. Guess I'm not the only one who likes the Ford Edge 18" wheels on the Fusion... below is the 2008 Fusion Sport Touring package with standard 18" Ford Edge painted aluminum rims....
  19. MEELAAN, I was neither seeking praise nor criticism. I do my mods to my vehicles for the way I want them to look. If others like it, that is great, and if not, well I am open-minded enough to accept that too. I posted this so that others can get ideas. We all come here with a different set of skills and knowledge and the point of the forum is to exchange, share, and help those that are interested regardless of their level of skill or knowledge. We can agree to disagree and move on. Here is a brief list of vehicles I have owned (some I can't even remember) and some I still own..so I do have a little experience with cars, engines, mods and yes showing certain vehicles. If I was interested in showing a vehicle I surely wouldn't have picked a Fusion, Milan, or Zephyr. Below is an example that some people have indeed liked certain mods to certain vehicles. I have no 'trailer-queens' as my current Fusion was purchased in Jan. 07 and already has racked up 12,000 miles. '78 Pontiac Bonneville (hey, it had a 400 quadrajet carb) '84 Toyota 4 x 4 p/u (grey) '85 Pontiac Grand Am (black) '86 Mazda RX-7 (blue) '87 Porsche 944 Turbo (white) '89 Toyota 4-Runner (white) '91 Firebird (white) '92 Formula Firebird WS6 (white) '95 Chevy Impala SS (white not available) '99 Ford F250 CC 7.3 Diesel (white) '98 Chevy Camaro SS (silver) '01 Ford Ranger 4 x 4 (white) '03 Ford Explorer 4 x 4 Limited (white) '07 F150 (white) '07 Ford Edge AWD (white not available) '07 Ford Fusion AWD (white) '71 Corvette Conv 4 speed- NVCC Peoples choice award winner
  20. I think the forum is very accepting of opinions regardless if they are in the mainstream or outside the majority. Maybe it is your tact more than your opinions. It's a public forum, we all have opinions. This thread I believe has been the first correspondence between you and I but just from my review of some of your other postings I can say that a high percentage are derogatory and negative in nature which may contribute to your cult-like forum perception. The only time I see any resemblance of a contributory post of yours is when you need a question answered on a given subject. Forums or 'real-life' there is some give and not all-take. Thanks for posting the Nissan vehicle, upon further review it looked as though the center caps were chrome oriented and not gray so I decided to make my wheels more like the Nissan and changed out the Ford gray centers for some Ford chrome centers...and yes I did this in my driveway too. I enjoy working on my own vehicles as no one else will take the time and patience that I will since it is my vehicle. Most service centers have a "get 'em in-get 'em out" attitude which is an attitude that I don't want to spend $70.00 an hour to finance.
  21. Here's were my inspiration came from... http://www.lmperformance.com/6862/85.html The Milan bumper and the Nissan Maxima bumper wouldn't fit my Fusion. If Nissan had an AWD sedan I probably would have looked at one of those too We better rip out our analog clocks because they look like the ones in an Infinity! LOL! Couple hours of labor and a few dollars in material...really not much to get in a 'huff' about! Let me guess Meelaan...someone has already told you that the only reason you bought a Milan was because of the Jill Wagner commercials and now you have Milan remorse or Fusion envy? LOL!
  22. Good mod for Oxford white for those of you interested.. Valance over exhaust tips painted flat-black and then clear-coated.

  24. That would be great if you can find that Dyoct!. According to the tire sizing chart my size difference is only .44% of a change. I would have to think that I could get that little difference if only by changing to a different tire brand. I think it is safe to say that 10 different tire manufacturers that make a 225/50/17 that at least of few of these would have that much difference between them regarding actual tire circumference. (ie. tire molding process, tire rubber thickness, tread depth, etc.) All tire sizes from each manufacturer are not going to measure exactly the same. My speedo even at 70 mph will show 69.6 with this setup. A recalibration for that much difference seems like lost money as I will probably lose .44% of the tire rubber over the life of the tire. Old Michelins on 17" rim & tire circumference 81 1/2" <<with 10,025 miles Bridgestones on 18" rim & tire circumference 81 3/4" <<brand new Both tires with 35 p.s.i. Hard to imagine how it could be any closer taking into consideration the tread loss @ 10,025 miles. A recalibration may not even pick up a difference this small.
  25. That's correct... and the 18" Ford Edge rims are 7.5" also. So essentially it's the same setup, you just see more rim and less tire where the stock ones are less rim and more tire. Also there are many aftermarket rims available but I have yet to see one that has the same exact 44mm offset. Many are close with 38mm-40mm but 44mm is hard to find.
