500 mile oil change in new 2013 yesterday

I put mobil 1 5w20 extended in with mobil 1 extended fiter. I am old school and believe in the early change especially if the car sat on the lot for a year with infrequent lot moves and no warm up. I could see some metallic wear particles and it smelled gassy. So in a week the car has been clay barred with two coats of liquid glass, the oil change and the new Bridgestone run flat drive guard tires and mcgard lug nuts n locks which I explained in depth in the spare tire alternative section

I disagree. Oil gets recycled and reused. And if there were visible metal shavings and fuel contamination then it sounds like it was a smart decision to put fresh oil in. Especially on a car that's a leftover 2013 that's been sitting around a lot and being driven on lots of short trips without being warmed up. I'm thinking I'll do something similar with the Energi.

Agreed too on the early change. In fact the dealer should have done this prior to handing the keys to you since it did sit for a long time. The OM does say a year I think regardless of miles, so its wasn't really an early oil change.
