Has anyone used 110 outlet yet?

I tried to plug my vacuum cleaner in this morning to clean out my interior, but it would not turn on.

I read that you need to have the car running, which it was (though the ICE was not). Are there restrictions as far as amperage? I assume that had to be the reason that the vacuum cleaner wouldn't start.

It's a maximum of 150 watts. There is no way it could handle the surge current to start a motor. I had it in my last car and in 4 years I never used it for anything. The battery charger for your cell phone or tablet would probably work. The car must be on for it to work. There is a green indicator beside the socket when the power is on.

Exactly... it works well to power a laptop charger, we've used it for that many times.

I'm still using it for my ambient lighting. ? I have not had the time to re-wire it yet.

I've used mine for a number of things, including an electric razor.

I use it to recharge my flight packs for my planes. Funny thing though, my charger is dual input so I can use a power point instead, but I lost the adapter for it.

has anyone used an ipad charger with it? Camping this past weekend charging was intermittent. It would work for a while and then later it wouldn't charge at all. Car was running. Weird.

That outlet puts out 110 volts with a very distorted waveform. It is no where near sinusoidal. 110 volts is the lower limit for an Apple charger. Possibly the RMS value of the waveform was less than 110 volts and the charger shut down. I've never understood why they picked 110 volts instead of 120 volts. My 2010 Fusion Hybrid was the same way.
