Any Scrapes, Scratches or Dings

I thought I was doing really well with my Fusion, but two days ago walking to my car after having lunch, I noticed some very pronounced scrapes on front right side fender. I rubbed my hand against it and it would not come off. The weird part is that I have no idea how or when it happened.

 

When I got home, I frantically searched for some Scratch Out that I remembered buying many years ago. It seems like it all came off very easily, so it must have been very superficial, which I guess explains why I did not notice it when it happened.

 

Entering and exiting my garage is probably the most treacherous part of my day. I have to turn into my garage, and instead of a single door for the two car garage, there are two individual garage doors, making the entry and the exit that much harder. And of course the car is beeping the whole time I am entering and exiting. I was hoping having all the sensors would help me avoid this type of thing, and I'm sure it will help, but since it beeps every time, it almost becomes background noise.

I walked out to my car this morning after taking half a day off because I wasn't feeling well. The sprinklers had come on, and the car was covered with water spots. When I came home I found some paste to clean that up and I think it turned out okay; it's time to have it waxed anyway so I guess I will have them do the clay bar, too. I sometimes wish we hadn't built our garage out into a music room and I could still stash my car there.

In the past, I have used Goo Gone for scratches like that, and it works great. As long as the paint wasn't damaged, it works at cleaning it off. It also works on removing adhesive from a removed bumper sticker or expired permit or registration. But fusionTX, wouldn't you have heard if you scraped the garage door going in or coming out? I bet it was a car. In the parking lot that caused the scrapes.

I have a gouge in my rear bumper on the right side and some scrapes around it. Some Schmuck hit it in a parking lot. Looks like the plastic is white under the bumper. Now to find some touch up paint. Good news is, if I get that Fusion all I need is one bottle of touchup paint since they will both be the same color.

Yeah it's odd. i don't really know where or how it happened. If i did it, I must have been jamming at the time.

I just used the Goo Gone to remove some wax I got on the rough plastic part of my rear bumper, I hate that look of white wax that has crept onto the plastic! my antenna base too.

Three weeks after delivery I took my Energi back to the dealer for paint correction on a couple spots that I noted on delivery. One, on the front left fender, was such a small scratch I expected them to just touch it up. They actually repainted the whole fender.

 

Here is where things get sad. I have a penchant for not allowing the dealer to wash my car(s) for fear of the rags they likely use and ending up with horrible swirls in the clear coat. So I made it clear I did not want it washed despite the service advisor telling me it was in rough shape from the body shop. I agreed for a rinse and air dry. As expected there was considerable wax residue all around the front fender and the rear bumper which was also repainted. In my efforts to clean up the residue in and around the Energi's charge port ring, I managed to put a 2" scratch in the freshly repainted bumper. I was just sick! I had to take it back because they didn't do a proper job repainting the rear bumper. While there they did a mechanical buffing on the scratch I put in the fender and it is all but gone. I have to go looking for it to find it now. Thank goodness. If I had to see that thing every time I plug it in I was going to hate myself for a long time. Now I can live with it.

Noticed first scratch on passenger side rear door a few days ago. There are lots of stone chips on front end from our road trip in January and that awful sand truck in New Mexico that pelted our car with sand/rocks

The first two weeks of ownership I got a couple of door dings. When my Consultant at Autoland was writing up my sale she mentioned a PDR (paintless dent removal) policy, I hesitated, then said, oh what the hell and bought it. It paid for it self the first month. The dings are gone like they were never there.
