Ordered 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid...Deep Impact Blue with 505A Equipment Group

Little know after that...told today material delays

I ordered my FFH from my local dealer on Sept 9. When I found that another dealer had the exact same car the first week in Nov, I jumped at the opportunity. My local dealer called yesterday and said the Fusion I order (my car's twin) just arrived.

All of my family and friends cannot understand why it is taking so long for my car to come in...

Guess I got lucky, I ordered on Nov 19 and picked it up yesterday...Dec 28th. Tuxedo Black, Black leather interior Moon roof, Deluxe package, rear camera and sensor.

Are your family and friends familiar with the retail order process and all of the variables involved? I'm no expert but this is retail order #6 for me (spanning 20 years)... my past orders for me took 9, 8, 11, 7, and 5½ (FFH in 2009) weeks.... this order I gave up on when I changed to the Titanium Hybrid where I knew the production run was still a couple months off, so that timeframe will be skewed when it finally gets here. But all-in-all it's normal for the process to take 2-3 months, of course the "TBD" stuff notwithstanding.

 

So right now you are at the 8 week mark and your car was built 10 days ago, has yout dealer seen anything on the transport yet?

I'm getting much more info from Cybert and this and the other forums than my dealer...

 

No.. first of all, this will be my first "new" car... EVER. Second, I've never had one "built for me" before.. so this whole "waiting for it to come in" is new to me and everyone else...

Yeah there is something strange about that one, unscheduled after being ordered on 19 October? Do you have the Vehicle Order Confirmation printed out by the dealer? If so, what is the priority on it? Maybe the dealer jacked up the order and it keeps getting passed over due to the priority?? That's the only guess I have. What are the details on your order? If you ordered the Ginger Ale color I did see a delay noted on those, though I don't think many order that color.

No I ordered Deep Impact Blue. The priority on the VOC is 10, which I understand is typical. Maybe it is because I ordered from a small dealership, who knows. Will be talking things out with them Saturday...maybe canx and order someplace else.

Well Coach, if the problem that Nick and I have is due to a production hiccup, yours should be fine! Keeping my fingers crossed that you get a good one.

Talked with the dealer and they said "you should have a vin in a couple weeks". Really? Well since it will be a 8-10 week wait again why don't I just canx current order and turn around and order Hybrid Ti...the wait will (should) be just as long...so I did. Back to square one.
