Parking Aid problem

I just started having this problem. On occasion when I go into reverse,the parking thing screeeches without shuting off even if there is nothing behind me. I did a system test frmo the dash and it continued. Shut the car down for a few minutes and again as soon as I put in reverse, the noise. I let it sit overnight and the problem went away. That's what I thought, it occured again yesterday. All night but after sitting for a few hours no problem. Any suggestions

If the sensors aren't blocked with dirt or debris then it sounds like a bad sensor.

Thats what I was thinking. A large bird got me near a sensor and we had a ton of pollon all over the places. I will try to cleant them off and if it happens again, off to ford nest tuesday

Wow! I read this yesterday and then today I was backing out of my garage and had the same thing happen. Haven't checked the sensors yet but just washed the Fusion yesterday.

 

Normally when backing out of the garage I get the normal warning beeps due to the proximity of the garage door frame. This was different. Screeched and didn't shut off until I put it in drive.

 

Grrrrrrrrrr.... I'll let you know if I find anything.

I encountered this intermittently soon after I got my car, but haven't experienced it in a long time. May mention it at my 15k service at least to get it documented.

No further problems with this. It only did it one time.

 

When it did happen that once, I put it in park and then back to reverse but it still screeched.

 

The sensors looked clean.

I just started to get the same problem. Will have to wash my car and see if that makes a difference.

So far so good, no problems must have been the bird poo on one of the sensors. I liked the suggestion that I mentione it at the 15k service but I don't take it in for service, I save the receipts and do it all myself.

I washed my car and now all is well. It must have been a blocked sensor.

Same problem just days after buying new hybrid. Any solutions yet? Very annoying. Would rather not have it.
