2010 Fusion SE Wheels and Tires

Recommended Posts

... From what you explained, all The Tire Rack is telling you is that they do not yet sell the correct sensors for the new 2010 models. They probably will eventually...

Uh...... I just bought wheels/tires/sensors from Tire Rack. For a 2010 Fusion SEL. No problems!

Sorry, I wasn't criticizing anyone in particular. The statement "The Tire Rack is telling you is that they do not yet sell the correct sensors for the new 2010 models" was just wrong, whoever originally made it, or came to that conclusion. I posted the fact that I bought wheels/tires/sensor for my 2010 over a month ago, but for some reason a lot of people are still confused (not you).

Can anyone advise if the Mustang 17 X 8 Bullet wheel will fit on the 2010 Fusion SE I4? Mustang wheels offset is 45 mm. Bolt pattern 5-114. See photo.post-3998-1242595664_thumb.jpg

I have currently installed a set of the aforementioned wheels to my car. It gives the astethtics a whole new look. They came with TPM's allready attached. I bought the TPM "Tool" from STEEDA and calibrated the TPM's myself. They fit fine. So if anyone needs a set of 18 Inchers with tires and TPM's give me a buzz. The tires and wheels have 7610 miles max on them. I will sell them for $600.00 plus shipping.

Sincerely, Me

How did you deal with the tpms issue? I also have a sport with 18" rims and picked up a set of takeoff rims from a 08/09 which didn't have tpms sensors. From what I understand, I just can't add the sensor to the older rims because of the way they fit. Did you install them on the new rims?

I put a set of 18" SAP wheels on my '10 SEL. The SAPs have the banded sensors which do NOT work with the '10. In 2010 Ford went to the valve-stem mounted sensors, which are available on eBay. I have purchased four Valve Stem/TPMS and have confirmed with my Ford TPMS tool that the car can recognize them. This week I am having them installed.

My concern is that the valve stems may not be the proper size for the SAP wheels - that is to say that they may not give enough clearance inside the wheel to mount the TPMS sensors. I have had some users on another forum say that they will fit, and some on this forum which say they will not. Let you know this week. If they don't fit, I believe I can purchase after-market valve stems which will accept the Ford TPMS sensors.

This is getting to be an expensive swap but I love the look of the SAP wheels, which were not offered when I ordered my SEL.

Where did you get the sensors? If they fit on SAP rims then then should fit on the 07/08 rims I picked up. Although I don't have a major issue with the little yellow light, it would be good not to have to deal with it and have a solution

The sensors were on ebay - item 140334810540 - they are still listed as (more than 10 sets available). They're pricey - $120 the set, but that is cheaper than the Ford dealer.

I'll update you Wednesday on how the installation goes tomorrow. Damn. It's like going to the hospital as an expectant father - they're going to operate on my Fuze tomorrow.

I hope they work. It would be great to update me on wednesday (today here in australia but tomorrow back in the states). If it works that would be fine and I would pick them up off ebay.

I had the tpms sensors I bought from ebay installed on Tuesday (8-11). They went in without a hitch and fit correctly on the Ford valve stems (which were included in the purchase). I was able to calibrate them with the Ford calibration tool (also available on ebay for about $12).

Other than some scratches the installer put on my wheels (I should have taken them off the car myself) the tires and tpms are now installed and happy.

Those are the wheels I am going to run for my winter tires. I know they don't fit the design of the car the best, but I already have those wheels (had them on my Ranger).

Even if I can't get the TPMS to work, I can live with a flat tire light for the winter.
