Hey guys, I just got a new 18 fusion hybrid. I am loving it so far.

I will get some pictures soon.

It currently has 235/45R18 for tires on it stock.

I live in MN where winters can be bad and I am looking at getting a winter tire package.

I have been researching and tires sizes can be confusing I have found.

Looking at tirerack.com they have a winter package using different tire sizes.

Tires: Bridgestone blizzak LM001 size 225/5OR17

RIMS: steel 17in wheel 17x7 offset 44mm.

Will the above work or would the ones below be better since they are the same tire size currently on it.

Tires: YOKOHAMA ICEGUARD IG20 235/45R18

Rims: ASA GT11 18x8 finished in Machined w/ Anthracite Accent offset 45mm

Please let me know your thoughts.

In 2015 - with my prior FFH - I got a set of rims from TireRack (Verde Regency) and then got snows at the local Goodyear store.  I set up the OEM rims with the snows and the TR rims with the OEM tread.  Swapped all that back when I traded it but on the current '17 I have the same setup.  Why go thru all that, you ask?  I have road hazard warranty thru Goodyear and the local shop will do the rin/tire swaps for free! <chuckle>  Free is good.  I upsell myself with wiper blades when needed as well. <shrug>

You moght want to look into doing something like that instead of going with the TR packages.
