How do I go about locking the fob in the car and then using the keypad for access?  Stupid fob is really bulky and I'd like to get it out of my pocket.

What I have tried ... drop fob into cupholder, hit the interior door lock button as I exit.  When I close the door, I get the double horn blast, the doors all unlock and I cannot lock them using the door handle.  They are not locked - the red lock light is out and I can easily open the door with no keypad appearing.

So, I am assuming there is a setting or two that I need to change ... where do I find it/them?

Thanks!

Try leaving the fob in the car and when you exit, use the keypad to lock the doors.

Wrap the fob in aluminum foil or put it in a metal box.

Like aschulz261 said.  Have you tried using the keypad.  Just push 7-8 and 9-0 at the same time and see if that will allow you to leave the key in the car.  Someone else gets in though and away they go have the key inside...

I can try some of that ... but what confuses me is that a waitress I know with a '15 Escape Titanium just locks her door as she exits - like I tried.  The fob is inside, no horn blare, no unlocking ... nothing.  Nice well-behaved Ford.

I'll give these a shot tho.

The 7-8 9-0 keypad push is the correct answer, this is how all Fords (with keypads) have worked for at least 20 years.  Even if someone were to break into your car and find the fob, they would not be able to start the car as the fob inside the car is disabled until you either enter the keypad code or use another fob to open the car.
