New Owner 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium

Purchased a new Ford Fusion March 11th. This is my 3rd hybrid (2 Toyota Prius' - 2005 & 2010). Would like to know more about my new car.

Congratulations on your Fusion! You're going to love it, especially when compared to the two Toyota "appliances" you had before (a bit of Fusion bias here). The best thing I can suggest is to take your owner's manual, go sit in your Fusion and go through the manual page by page, pushing every button and turning every knob until you completely understand the technology and all the workings of the vehicle. It may take a couple of times, but you'll thank yourself in the long run. Welcome to the forum. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask them here. There's a wealth of good information and advice available from members, who are more than willing to help.

The theory and block diagrams of the Toyota and Ford hybrids is the same. The architecture is a little different. Ford is much more aggressive in shutting down the ICE several times more often than Toyota and using EV at higher speeds. The use of the LiIon HVB in the Ford is a little different. The Ford is a more comfortable better driving car. It gets 10 mpg less than the Prius.

I second what ceilidhdog said ... the time spent with the manual and learning where things are was invaluable to me and my FFH was the first hybrid I've ever had. I've put over 27K miles on the car in under a year and it's been a dream to have. With snow tires on it this past Winter (the first one for it), it handled like it was on rails through all the lousy road conditions we had here. Best Winter driving car I've ever had.
