hybridbear Report post Posted March 5, 2015 http://www.hybridcars.com/february-2015-dashboard/ The FFH beat the Camry Hybrid in February! 3rd place behind the Prius Liftback & Prius C. Green Car Reports recently ran an article that Accord Hybrid sales are no longer constrained by a lack of supply, yet it still sells at only 25-30% of the volume of the FFH & Camry Hybrid. The Fusion Energi almost caught up and overtook the Volt for the best selling PHEV. The Volt should see low sales this year with the new model coming out soon. I wonder if Ford can get the Fusion Energi to overtake the Volt for the PHEV sales lead. 4 B25Nut, Timewellspent, acdii and 1 other reacted to this
machoman1337 Report post Posted March 5, 2015 In the short term the Energi can probably overtake the Volt until the 2nd gen is launched. The new Volt will probably overtake the Energi right away though. I love the Fusion but from a practical perspective, the Volt is a far better purchase than the Energi in every way, from the range to the trunk to the much higher tax rebates (in Ontario, the Volt now qualifies for the maximum $8,500 rebate that full electric cars get, whereas its predecessor only got around $8,200). It's just the reality of having a car that is designed to be both hybrid and nonhybrid.
B25Nut Report post Posted March 6, 2015 How can the author of this look at the data and state "the Fusion Hybrid is struggling"? 2 acdii and GrySql reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted March 6, 2015 Good question considering Ford has 2 versions of Fusion Hybrid, Camry only has one. It's still a capacity issue for the Fusion, since the builds are split between the two. Combine the Fusion Hybrid sales with Energi sales, and what do you get. Looks like it passed Prius C when you combine them. Shows people are taking notice that the Fusion is a nicer car than the Camry. Cmax Energi surpassed PiP.
