mguerci Report post Posted August 4, 2007 Does anyone know if the silver trim pieces on the Milan steering wheel around the buttons will fit on the Fusion wheel? Based on the pictures I've seen I suspect that the parts fit in a recess in the Milan steering wheel. However, the Fusion steering wheel does not have this recess. Meelaan Report post Posted August 6, 2007 The steering wheels appear to be identical. The Fusion simply doesn't have a contrasting color (silver) in that area. It's completely monochrome instead. On a side note... maybe that photo is something you just grabbed off the web, but if not: what the hell did you do to your car?
mguerci Report post Posted August 7, 2007 That is a picture I got off of ebay of a Milan steering wheel. I certainly have no intention of tearing my new car to pieces. I improving the trim on my plain SE camel interior with a combination of a trim kit and dipped molded components. To that end, I'm just trying to understand if the trim from a Milan wheel would fit on a Fusion. The silver portion for the Milan steering wheel seems to be a seperate plastic trim piece that mounts onto the wheel. Based on what I can see in the pictures, I think the underlying portion of the steering wheel is different on the Milan than the Fusion to accomdate this extra thickness. Looking at my Fusion wheel I don't think the trim would fit flush and properly unless the wheel was different.
Meelaan Report post Posted August 8, 2007 The wheels are identical. it would appear to me that the Milan silver wheel trim is simply an additional plastic piece that goes over the stock wheel.
