Hi there!

I purchased a 2015 Ford Focus Hybrid Titanium in beautiful Ruby Red two days ago, and I must have already spent a good 5 hours here reading up on different posts, suggestions, and information. If I spend that much time here now, I can only imagine that I'll be back often enough to warrant setting up an account.

A bit about me; I drive just a touch under 50 miles a day to and from work (about 25,000 miles a year). Gas mileage is constantly on my mind. I got a Ford Focus Titanium (in beautiful Yellow Blaze) a year and a half ago primarily for all the cool techy toys and the 38 mpg. That experience with Fiona (my Focus' name) ensured that my next car would also be a Ford. Most of my family has disowned me as they are pure blooded GM folk.

Anywho, I'm in my car a lot. The mpg got me into a Ford, the tech options got me to stay with Ford. As with any good thing, I wanted more.... more mpg and more tech. That desire manifested itself this week and I ended up with Ginger.

A bit about Ginger. Ginger is my new ride. The only way I could see getting more mpg was a hybrid, and thankfully that actually got me into a bigger car to boot. I've had a blast playing with MyFord Touch, heated seats and mirrors, rain sensing wipers, push button start, backup sensors, and auto climate controls. Ginger brings more to the party with heated steering wheel, cooled seats, BLIS, rear cross traffic warnings, lane departure aid, remote start, navigation, moonroof, and more.

I've only driven Ginger for a couple days, but according to the in dash computer I'm getting just over 40 mpg. Most of that has been on the highway. Considering that Fiona was only getting 32 mpg in the winter I think I have a lot of mpg to look forward to!

Anywho, just wanted to drop in to say hi and thanks for posting such great information!

A warm welcome to CCalvinN with Ginger.

Enjoy the new ride and the great people on this forum.

BTW the first line shocked me bit since I didn't know until now that Ford also makes a Focus Hybrid ;)

Welcome, pretty certain the OP meant Fusion. :) Though a Focus Hybrid would beat the pants off prius.

Indeed I did intend to write "I purchased a 2015 Ford FUSION Hybrid Titanium in beautiful Ruby Red two days ago..."

I'm so accustomed to writing "2012 Ford Focus" that it just rolls off the fingers.

And yes, a Focus Hybrid would have driven the pants off of any Prius! Ironically a friend's Prius is the only hybrid I've personaly experienced before this Fusion. I'm impressed at how much more EV mode I seem to be getting!

Welcome from another Ruby Red FFH owner. We all know it's the best color :)

Hey! You want to step outside and say that? :angry22:

DarkSide is so cool you don't even know what color it is.

I'd have to say that the Ruby Red is the best color. It has a slice of 'fun' along with the 'mature' feeling I was trying to inspire. It looks classy without dipping into boring territory. So long as I'm giving opinions on colors.....

Tuxedo Black: I love a good black car. The problem I have with Tuxedo Black is the over abundance of metallic flake.

Deep Impact Blue: A little too close to purple for my tastes.

White Platinum: White is the embodiment of anticipation. Anticipation of it getting dirty.

Ingot Silver: I've always found grey cars to be epitome of blending in. Calling it silver doesn't take away the fact that it's the distinct lack of color.

Oxford White: See White Platinum

Magnetic: See Ingot Silver.

Tectonic Silver: Grey that's dipping it's toe into color (admittedly my second favorite color).

Bronze Fire: This color actually brought me to the dealership. I thought I would love it as it would certainly stand out. Unfortunately it's not quite brown enough for my tastes.

Guard: See Tectonic Silver (admittedly my third favorite color).

My only real problem with the Ruby Red is that it de-emphasizes those gloriously shaped tail lights.

That is another of the many reasons I prefer the lighter colors on the current Fusions, because the light colors emphasize the beauty of the beautiful redness of the sleek taillights and brings out the intensity of the macho grille. :)

Black makes it Beastly! Beauty and a Beast. The Metallic flake in the TB helps it not look so dirty, unlike a solid black car, you wash it, dry it, and 30 minutes later its dirty just from the dust in the air. The TB may not stay cleaner longer, it just doesn't LOOK as dirty as it is.

Of course mine right now looks like a grey car, needs a good bath.

White is one of the best colors for not showing road dirt. Black is the hardest to keep it looking clean.

In the Southwest states, the dirt that sticks to the cars is usually in the biege to tan range. So given that, the current best FFH color for not showing dirt in the Southwest is the Tectonic Silver, since it is a beige-y gold.
