mwr Report post Posted February 3, 2015 I've always had sun shields for my cars; the last few were from Covercraft. They're the best I've found, but am wondering if there might be even better ones out there. I'll be driving down to Palm Springs (Southern California) in about a week and want to get a sun shield before I go.
Hybrider Report post Posted February 3, 2015 I'm sure it is up to the individual's preferences, but I prefer the 2-piece sunshades which, when ready to store, can be placed on top of each other and then folded up into a circle. They are very easy for me to put in and take back down by myself, and they store easily between the passenger seat and the console. The brand I usually purchase is "Auto Expressions Magic Shade (collapsible) sunshade", which seems to be owned by Kraco, and are conveniently found at Walmarts, Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc. The size that works good for me in my FFH is the Jumbo size. I have not had the chance to try the Super Jumbo size to see how well it fits the FFH. These are the three sizes they come in:STANDARD: Each panel is 25 x 28 inches / 63.5 x 71 cmJUMBO: Each panel is 28 x 31 inches / 71 x 79 cmSUPER JUMBO: Each panel is 31 x 38 inches / 79 x 96.5 cm 2 GrySql and hybridbear reacted to this
mwr Report post Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Because the Covercraft sun shields are custom cut to fit your model car, it would take a few weeks for them to arrive. So I went to an auto supply store today, tried some rectangular sun shields (terrible fit), then tried the one described by Hybrider above. They fit better than I thought a non-custom one could fit. And no need to use the sun visors to hold them in place; they just stay there. They folded up easily on my first try. Folded, it fits perfectly into a compartment in my trunk organizer. They cost $10 instead of $50 for the Covercraft. Edited February 4, 2015 by mwr 2 hybridbear and Hybrider reacted to this
