Tim Rector Report post Posted December 8, 2014 I am looking into a roof rack that I can mount a cargo carrier to for extra luggage storage. We are making a trip from Indiana to Florida for Christmas and it gets cramped with my wife, two kids and luggage.Could someone recommend an inexpensive roof rack system that works for a 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid? lolder Report post Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) I carried about a 50 lb. bench a few tears ago in my 2010 FFH with a modified foam kayak mount with two horizontal 2 X 4s mounted to the foam roof mounts. Only the outer edges of the roof have enough stiffness to support much weight. You must twist all straps at least 1/2 turn to prevent vibration.
