I've recently noticed on more than a few Fusions, while they have their blinker on, the BLIS indicator blinks in unison with the blinker light. My car, which has BLIS, doesn't do this. Anyone have a clue why?

The BLIS indicator should not blink with the turn signal. Perhaps you are seeing the turn signal lights which are located on the outer edge of the mirror mount.

On third inspection, I think you're right murph. Please pass me the dunce hat.

I know there is the blinker on the other side of the mirrors, but it really looked to be the bliss light on the other cars. But when I tried it on my car at night and from the right angle, it was the blinker light.

Riggo, don't be so hard on yourself. These cars can be very confusing and questions about how the systems work is perfectly normal.

So let's leave it up to help the next person that needs the answer to your question.

Think of the bright side Riggo, because of this thread I tested it out on the beltway this morning with a car directly beside me, BLIS light stayed steady but seeing the signal come on probably surprised the car in the lane next to me...

Someone on another forum asked if the BLIS beeps when the signal is on and a car is in that lane. The results were pretty much no, however one person reported that it will beep if, the BLIS light is on, the turn signal is on, and the car starts to move into that lane. I for one am not about to test this theory though.

I was watching a car in the lane next to me on my way home last night. I realized the BLIS light was on as the car was seeing my car, lol.

I've wondered about this too. I also haven't tested it...

I can confirm that it does. I was on the NY thruway when it happened. Accident avoided.

I didn't intentionally test it out, but a few months ago, I somehow didn't notice the BLIS light on and almost switched lanes when someone was in my blindspot. Let's just say, if the BLIS beeped, it was drowned out by the honking horn of the other car! So despite the close call, I still don't know if the BLIS beeps or not!

Sounds like your sideview mirror is not adjusted correctly. A car approaching on the left should appear in the sideview mirror before it disappears from the rear view mirror. It should then appear in your peripheral vision before it disappears from the side view mirror.

If you can see the left or right side of your car in the side view mirrors they are not adjusted correctly. It only took me 30 years to learn that.

Or they are adjusted properly, but it was just missed. I have had that happen a few times over my 30+ years. One moment no cars around you, a minute or so later you decide to make a lane change and there's a car! S*** happens. :) Usually that only has happened after driving long periods of time. I used to drive a Semi too, those are even more fun when making lane changes. Even with all the mirrors there are still some blind spots you just cant work around, especially on the right side.

I don't think it's a case of mirror adjustment - if there wasn't a blind spot between the mirrors, there wouldn't be BLIS. I checked the mirror before I started to change lanes and there was no car in the lane, but I did happen to miss the BLIS light.
