dfred Report post Posted November 25, 2014 Well watching the news..... I just hope the train passed through St Louis before the riots or my car may not have a trunk...... Pass the ammo........
Texasota Report post Posted November 25, 2014 Dfred, keep your eyes on the watch as it swings back and forth, back and forth, Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock... Your eyes are getting very heavy... you are feeling very sleepy... sleeeeeepy... When you wake up at the snap of my fingers you will have an overpowering and all consuming urge to locate a spare tire kit for your brand new FFH that will be arriving soon. You know you will need it someday and you must have one. It will occupy every waking moment of your thoughts until you have located that spare tire kit and brought it home for your new FFH. You must have one... --SNAP-- 2 corncobs and GrySql reacted to this
dfred Report post Posted November 25, 2014 Well thanks for all the concerns on my knowledge of the Owners Manual and I have located a spare tire kit but it may be better to have a tow truck follow me in case I get a flat.......... My car is in the Norfolk Southern Voltz Railyard in Kansas City Mo......... It has been setting there for the last 24 hours..... The rail line goes through Fergeson Mo and St. Louis before heading to Louisville Ky....... Hopefully when the train does move the riots will be over........ Still have a delivery date of Dec 2nd so that will give me another week to read the manual and find some fuzzy dice to hang on the mirror........ Texasota Report post Posted November 25, 2014 I know the answer to that one....=Okay,How quickly can a tire explode if you spin it while stuck in sand? From page 302 of the FFH owner's manual: If your vehicle is stuck insnow, mud, sand, etc., do notrapidly spin the tires; spinning thetires can tear the tire and causean explosion. A tire can explode inas little as three to five seconds. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
dfred Report post Posted November 25, 2014 If my x wife is in the car........ She will explode a lot faster than the tire will................

dfred Report post Posted November 26, 2014 Dealer says the car is at a vehicle terminal at Shelbyville Ky..... It will be taken off the train and transferred to truck transport. Should depart Tuesday morning Dec 2 ( due to the holidays ). It's a 50 mile run to the dealer...... Going to the liquor store to stock up for the long weekend....... dfred Report post Posted November 30, 2014 Now the dealer says Dec 4th........ How many beers can I drink...........
corncobs Report post Posted November 30, 2014 Now the dealer says Dec 4th........ How many beers can I drink...........Hang in there and enjoy your drinks while you can. Once you are in your new FFH you won't have many opportunities to drink because you will constantly be driving. ;) 1 GrySql reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted December 1, 2014 Sometimes the cars show up early. Our special order arrived earlier than the dealer expected. The same was true of my parents' C-Max Energi.
dfred Report post Posted December 1, 2014 It's really aggravating since the car has been sitting 50 miles away since last Wednesday....... And hasn't moved....... Not a happy with ford on this one....... I Can understand no delivery on thanksgiving, but the dealer had deliveries on Friday, Saturday and today..... All from the lot where my car is sitting............ And this is my third special order Ford...... But may be my last.......
hermans Report post Posted December 1, 2014 You can call the dealer and ask them to have the car hot shipped. I did this with both my 2013s - the dealer calls the shipping yard and arranges for expedited delivery. This costs them nothing. Mine were both delivered within hours of being offloaded from the rail cars.
dfred Report post Posted December 1, 2014 According to my dealer they can't call the yard directly.... They have to call the rep who calls God knows who till it finally gets to someone who can hot ship....... I have already paid for the car to take advantage of the deadline for holiday cash....... It's like ford has my money so what's the hurry..... I'm really upset over this........

But may be my last.......There may not be enough cars coming your way to fill a semi from the rail yard to the dealer. Are you working with a low volume dealer or do you live in a small town with only one local Ford dealer? Be glad that Ford allows you to special order. Other manufacturers don't allow custom orders. They'll make you search dealers to find the car you want and then one gets delivered with lots of miles on it since it was driven from one dealer to another.
