nv rick Report post Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) This was actually on the local news this morning - gas prices have, at a few stations, dipped below $3 per gallon for regular! I took this through the windshield in the rain this afternoon on my way home from work. We're down to $2.88 at several stations here in Pahrump. An interesting fact: In Pahrump, our gas station prices are always cheaper than in Las Vegas. Usually at least .10 to .20 a gallon. Seems strange in that they have to haul the gas 60 miles over a mountain pass to get it here.Orion. Never heard of that one before. But the paint scheme reminds me of BP. Did BP change their name? We don't have BP or Orion around here, as far as I know. Edited October 25, 2014 by nv rick

dalesky Report post Posted October 26, 2014 What's interesting here in South Cackalacky is that while prices are often under 2.75 now in the Myrtle Beach Area, they often are also over $3.00, the same day. Obvious gouging going on.If I could count on prices staying down I would retune my Mustang GT for premium and burn some rubber, but of course we can't expect these prices to last. dalesky Report post Posted October 26, 2014 My first new car was a 1973 Honda Civic, one of the first Civics sold in the USA. My dad told me if I got a job and saved money, he would match what I earned to put towards a car. I'm sure he was expecting to have to shell out a couple of hundred dollars, but I saved $1000, half of the cost of a brand new Civic. I thought I was driving in style, with an AM/FM radio. The car had a manual choke that you had to pull out when you started the car, then as the car warmed up, you could push it back in. Even at $0.30 a gallon, I still appreciated getting great gas mileage, I seem to remember close to 40mpg. What is cool about the ad is that they are being honest and telling buyers that the EPA estimate is not necessarily accurate. I remember that was prevalent at one time. 3 hybridbear, GrySql and HighwayJerk reacted to this
djminfll Report post Posted October 26, 2014 Orion. Never heard of that one before. But the paint scheme reminds me of BP. Did BP change their name? We don't have BP or Orion around here, as far as I know.I actually just started working in Miami 2 weeks ago, and never saw Orion gas until now. I don't think they are related to BP, we still have lots of BP stations all over south FL.

hybridbear Report post Posted October 27, 2014 Gas was down to under $2.75 here at the beginning of last week. Late last week I had to go to Wausau, WI for work which took about 9 gallons. Of course the prices jumped just in time for my trip, all the way up to $3.15+ so I didn't buy gas right away when I got back. Today we used up $0.65 in gas rewards from our local grocery store to fill up and gas was all the way up to $3.19. It had been $2.99 on Saturday. But my dad and I had made plans to go together since I would only need 9 gallons so that he could put 11 into their Murano at the cheap price since the discount has a 20 gallon limit. Our timing was poor, gas prices jumped to $3.30 today!
acdii Report post Posted October 28, 2014 There is a station in Algonquin, Randal and Algonquin, $2.99. Still bugs the crap out of me that they raise the price of fuel on what is still in the ground, not when they receive a new batch. Last week one station went from 3.13 to 3.25, then back down to 3.13 the next day. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
