GrySql Report post Posted February 19, 2015 SSM 44931 - Vehicle Health Report Inoperative with Aftermarket Device Plugged Into Data Link Connector Some 2008-2015 Ford/Mercury/Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC may exhibit a message indicating Vehicle Needs 200 Miles on it to perform a Vehicle Health Report (VHR). If this message is displayed, inspect for an aftermarket device that is plugged into the Data Link Connector (DLC). Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 418-00 Module Communications Network, Description and Operation. If an aftermarket device is found, do not perform a repair or attempt a module update as the device must be removed from the DLC for SYNC VHR to operate properly. After removing an aftermarket device, cycle the ignition key once and perform a short drive to update the odometer reading. If the SYNC VHR is still not operating properly, refer to the WSM, Section 415-00 Information and Entertainment System fordiagnosis by DTC or symptom. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted February 19, 2015 SSM 44939 - 2013-2015 Fusion/MKZ - Dust Intrusion Some 2013-2015 Fusion/MKZs may exhibit dust intrusion into the passenger compartment. This is likely due to the accumulation of dust that collects just outsideof the door seal(s), and can get drawn into the passenger compartment as the door is opened. Dust intrusion in this scenario should be considered a normal characteristic of the vehicle due to the environment and/or dirt roads that the vehicle is being subjected to and no repairs should be attempted. Compare to a like unit in a similar environment. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted March 2, 2015 SSM 44961 - 2011-2015 Various Vehicles - Global Positioning Satellite Module (GPSM) - Inaccurate Location Or Offset Displayed After Seasonal Tire Change Some 2011-2015 Vehicles with MFT or MLT and Navigation may display incorrect vehicle position after installing seasonal tires. These inaccuracies will correct/recalibrate over time if tires are within the recommended size. Use Owners Guideto verify proper size, load index, and speed rating. If the tires are not the correct specification for the vehicle, do not perform a repair attempt. If proper tires are installed and the concern persists refer to Work Shop Manual, Section 415-00 for diagnosis by DTC or symptom. Note: Removing GPSM power for 2 minutes will clear GPSM calibration and greatly reduce the time it takes for the system to correct/recalibrate. The system will typically recalibrate within 20 minutes of driving around 40 MPH with a clear view of the sky and a turn performed every few miles with the GPSM power restored. 1 GrySql reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted March 9, 2015 SSM 44977 - 2014 Fusion, 2014-2015 MKZ Built On Or Before 1/17/2015 - Active Park Assist Finishes Too Early Some 2014 Fusion and 2014-2015 MKZ equipped with Active Park Assist may exhibita concern of the Active Park Assist system finishing or completing an active park assist event early without the vehicle becoming parallel with the curb. To correct the concern on Fusions, update the PSCM to the latest calibration using IDS version 94.03 or higher. For MKZ built on or before 1/17/2015, update the PSCMand the PAM to the latest calibration. If the MKZ is built on 12/2/2014 and through 1/17/2015, the latest PSCM software may already be installed, but the PAM should still be updated. This may be due to a short on the cooling fan circuits. To verify, remove the driver's side trunk liner and look for a shorted harness for the take-out to C4434 and C4435 on the HV batterycage bracket. The bracket attaches the HV battery cage to the body. Refer to the wiring diagram for the location of C4434 or C4435. Refer to WSM, Section 313-14.Older service parts could result in the vehicle returning with the same DTCs. The date code is a 4 digit code located on the side of the sensor when holding it with the electrical connector at the 3:00 position. The first two digits of the build date are the day in the month (e.g., 1-31). The third digit is the month (e.g., 1-9 = Jan-Sept, O=Oct, N=Nov, D=Dec). The last digit is the year (e.g., 3=2013, 4=2014). For example, Dec 13, 2013 = 13D3, and Jan 1, 2014 = 0114. SSM 44776 - 2013-2014 C-Max, 2013-2015 Fusion HEV/PHEV and MKZ HEV, or 2012-2014 Focus BEV - Powertrain Modules Coordinated Flash - Service TipEffective Oct 20 20142013-2014 C-Max, 2013-2015 Fusion HEV/PHEV and MKZ HEV, and 2012-2014 Focus BEV require a coordinated flash when performing module programming for the ABS, BECM, PCM, SOBDM, or TCM. When module programming is initiated for any of these modules, the IDS will check for software updates for the ABS, BECM, PCM, SOBDM, and the TCM and will automatically install updates to each module that is not already at the latest level. If the coordinated flash is interrupted undesired vehicle operation may result. If the ABS module is programmed during the coordinated flash, DTC C1018 may be present after programming has completed, and the Multi-Calibration Routine must be performed. The Multi-Calibration Routine is found in IDS by selecting Toolbox - Chassis - Braking – Service Routine – Multi-Calibration. 1 GrySql reacted to this
