md13ffhguy Report post Posted September 8, 2014 Recently, I experienced phenomenal gas mileage over a fairly long daytrip - 59 MPGs over a 245 round trip. Hybridbear commented on the fairly high number of regen miles, and suggested there must have been a lot of stops. Since then, I've been wondering why I evidently had a greater ratio of regen than others, since there actually weren't many stops at all. After driving the new 14 we just acquired for my wife, I think I've got it figured out. The difference is Adaptive Cruise Control. I drive most everywhere with Eco Cruise enabled. In my car, with ACC, regenerative braking automatically occurs when the car is heading downhill and would otherwise be adding speed. In her car, without ACC, the car just seems to pick up speed going downhill. Thus, on cars equipped with ACC, there seems to be the potential to accumulate more regen miles than those without ACC. I'm fairly certain this is another factor that's contributing to my very satisfactory miles per gallon in my 2013 FFH. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
Cooling Tower Guy Report post Posted October 3, 2014 Sounds like a great reason to have ACC. My '13 does not but still has a life time average of 45.6.
