Got a jump now radio doesn't turn on

Recommended Posts

I recently (yesterday) had to get a jump because my lights had been left on all day and the battery died. After the jump everything was ok except the radio which has no power and doesn't come on at all.

I have a 2007 Fusion SE that is only three months old (2800 miles) and I don't know if I need a code or if the fuse blew. I needs my radio!!! Help!

That's weird and definitely a bummer. I don't have a clue. Maybe someone else on the forum can help. A call to the dealer might be in order. Sure hope it is an easy fix. No radio is the pits.

I believe I read in the manual that there is a condition about if the battery is ever disconnected, the stereo has to be reprogrammed using your key or something... look into it in the manual, cause I'm pretty sure I saw this protocol there.

It's something similar to Honda's policy, but not as secure. Hondas come with a little credit card looking thing that has a number code. If the battery is ever disconnected, the stereo ceases to work unless you enter the number code (using the radio preset buttons) correctly. It's supposed to prevent people from stealing the head unit.
