HotLap Report post Posted November 4, 2014 m8K, nice look! I picked up a 2014 Fusion Energi Titanium a couple of months ago and love it. It's tri-white and I too live in CA and never use a front plate. I've been driving for years without one and only place I've been hassled about it was LAX - after I had parked and left on my business trip. They either search the lot looking at the parked cars or when you pull in they film the front of your vehicle then go issue a ticket in the parking lot. Funny thing they did not require me to fix anything, show the plate installed to a peace officer - just mail in the fee...revenue enhancement at its best :) So now I keep my front plate with zip ties in the trunk and can easily zip tie it to the grille for any LAX trips. About those mounting holes, go to an auto parts store and purchase the smallest plastic "push pin" connectors you can find (like the pins that hold trim pieces in and paint them with several coats using your factory touch up paint. Huge improvement in looks. Good luck!! PS I have tinted my windows as well (another CA violation as no tint is allowed on the front side windows) and recently installed the 19" x 9" Fusion "H" pattern wheels in black chrome. You are probably unaware of this but with the Energi, you have no wheel options - have to take the 17" "weenie" wheels and they looked ridiculous on the car and really degraded the handling...much better with the 19"s. One last thing is this past weekend I've removed the "Fusion", "Titanium" and "Energi" emblems and the car looks so much cleaner.
