Graven Report post Posted August 24, 2014 1,300 miles & ran over a nail. Fortunately I put air in the tire (did not use the rescue pump and sealer). Drove the car to my dealer who fixed the flat ($18). He informed me ( confirmed in owners manual) if I had used the sealant, the tire stem and TPMS would have to be replaced ( est $200). I did some research (Googled) "Slime" sealant and the Slime website says they have a Rescue Pump w/sealant that is approved for use with TPMS (tire pressure monitoring systems). I checked mine and it's a Ford Motor product not Slime.I'm now looking for a spare tire kit, in case lightening strikes twice. I can't remember when I've had a flat prior to this one. hermans Report post Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) TPMS units are $34. apiece for the Fusion. I just bought 4 of them. Many of us have replaced the air/sealant units with temporary spares. I had a sidewall blowout and was glad I bought one. Edited August 24, 2014 by hermans
murphy Report post Posted August 25, 2014 The rescue pump has two modes. One of them operates as a regular air pump while the other one injects the "sealer". I don't plan to ever use the sealer mode. I carry plug patches and a can of slime in case I can't find the leak to plug it.
