Super Duty prototype burns to the ground

That WONT buff out! I wonder what was blowing up in the front. there were several explosions. I know that batteries were at least 2, but that big one towards the end, wow.

Appropriately named, It certainly WAS Death Valley for that truck.

 

Speculation. Looking at the first photo in the slide, the fire seems to be originating from the left side firewall, not the cab, so my uneducated guess(Going by the design of the F350 I had), if this was a Diesel, the brakes are powered by the power steering fluid, so a hose ruptured, spraying PS fluid onto the hot manifold/turbo, and being that the outside temps were 120* or so, the engine compartment would be extremely hot, and cause an instant ignition of the fluid. Once that starts it can quickly engulf the vehicle like this.
