gadgetguy Report post Posted July 21, 2014 Hey everyone... Been a long time since I've posted here but I do follow several threads. After 1 year, 3 months and 38,000 miles I had to replace my tires. I decided to replace my stock Titanium wheels with some Drag DR-33's and it looks awesome! I chose the Pirelli P7 All Season Plus LRR tires and it is smooth and quiet! I am selling my stock wheels if anyone is interested let me know. One wheel has a small ding but has no bearing on balance or its integrity and the other 3 are perfect. I've been rolling on it since it happened at around 10k miles. Here is a link to a G+ posts showing the wheels and what tread is left. https://plus.google.com/photos/113334680236721862429/albums/6035263723843701281?authkey=CJ6Ni4H_mebDHA 2 Ryan Goodlett and corncobs reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) Glad to know you're still around. What happened to your tires that you have to replace them so soon? 38k miles is not very many for a set of tires, especially not expensive ones like the Goodyear tires on the FFH. Nothing happened they all had even wear and were just about down on the indicator. My ride is much smoother now!! Here is what it looks like now - https://plus.google.com/photos/113334680236721862429/albums/6038643149491282001?authkey=CLTYl6emucGECA

I hope our tires aren't worn out after so few miles! 1 gadgetguy reacted to this
gadgetguy Report post Posted July 21, 2014 That's actually longer than any OEM tire I've ever had lol.... The Pirelli P7 is rated a 70k mile tire.
acdii Report post Posted July 21, 2014 These Goodyear tires aren't that expensive, they are $84 each. They don't wear very well either, mine are about due now, and starting to have cold balance issues. They have 28K on them. 1 gadgetguy reacted to this
hybridbear Report post Posted July 22, 2014 Hmmmm I guess I'm used to getting 60k miles from tires. The 2006 Honda Accord Hybrid which we traded in when we bought the black FFH had 63k miles on the original tires. They were Michelin something...Primacy maybe? And they still weren't dead. They would have needed to be replaced before winter which was part of our decision to buy the FFH. We saved $700 in tire costs by buying a new car lol I also had a set of Michelin Primacy tires on one of my Saabs. I put about 40k miles on those tires in a couple years and they still looked like new. I believe they had an estimated 30k miles to go before needing replacement. 1 gadgetguy reacted to this
gadgetguy Report post Posted July 22, 2014 acdii exactly.... I've had a terrible ride for sometime now and I can say that these Pirelli P7's are way smoother than the Goodyear's even when they were new. The car rides awesome! 1 acdii reacted to this
kbailey990 Report post Posted July 22, 2014 Remember, HB, that your ICE only runs 1/2 the time, so you should get twice the tire life! (Hey, it works for oil... Right?) 2 hybridbear and acdii reacted to this
Riggo Report post Posted July 22, 2014 Speaking of new wheels and tires. The 2015 titanium hybrid has the wheels I wanted all along, back in 2013, albeit at a smaller 17" size. Sigh... I'm wondering if switching my 18" titanium wheels for those 17" 2015 wheels would boost my fuel economy even more.
