expresspotato Report post Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) Hi all, My car didn't start properly this morning and I'm now waiting for a tow to the dealer. When the ice did start it started to rumble and the CEL light illuminated. C46B86 is shown in the Engineering Screen. 13FFH Report post Posted July 18, 2014 I too had a weird situation earlier this year. Car started but had no power to the instrument cluster or the Ford Touch display. Next time I started everything seemed fine but yellow wrench symbol. Engineering mode showed same code you are getting. Took it in to have looked at and service department extracted a bunch of "U" codes one of which was U046B:86-08, which looks like the C46B86 that was shown in the DTC ET window. U046B is "Invalid Data Received From Global Positioning System Module". Root cause was never found.

There is a TSB or SSM relating to various U DTCs. You can find it online.

crisis182 Report post Posted October 18, 2014 I'm having this same problem. Did anyone figure out what the issue is? It started for me a few days ago with my car not starting. I had my wife jump me. Now when I try to start the car it usually doesn't start at first, but I take the key out, sit for a second, and try again. Usually the 2nd or 3rd time it will start. I don't know if it's an issue with the battery, because when it does start, all my components don't come on always. Usually my screen stays black and the back-up camera doesn't come on at all. Yesterday, my stereo didn't come on. Do I just need a battery? Mine is a 2013 FFH SE with 24,497 miles. I do live in AZ, and the heat is hard on batteries. Hopefully it has the DTC's and can be printed out to take with you to the Dealer. Anytime an Alert or Dash Warning comes on it's good to do another VHR and print it, the Ford website only stores the last VHR it receives.
