Ford Canada Adjusts Fuel Consumption Ratings for Certain Vehicles

Recommended Posts

I know that there is already a thread explaining the issue with the EPA numbers on some Ford 2013 and 2014 models. I went through the whole thread and didn't see anything for us Canadians, only the US information was posted. If you would like to see the whole topic as well as the video click here. I dug a little deeper on the www.ford.ca website and found out that us Canadian's are also getting a Goodwill payment for the fuel consumption changes.

Here's a chart that represents what Canadian's will be receiving back from Ford.

FYI: MKZ H owners will be getting $1,800 back. Here's are details: http://www.lincolncanada.com/service/adjustedfuellabels/

Ford will have all of these cheques sent out before October 30th, 2014

Here's the link to Ford's notice to Canadian customers : http://www.ford.ca/service/adjustedfuellabels/

It looks like I will be getting $925 back! Whoohooo!

Hello

I have a 2015 FFH on order. Due to be built any day now.

The window sticker has a new set of mileage numbers, different again from what's posted here.

The window sticker shows 5.4/ 52 and 5.8/ 49 for l/100 km / mpg.

Just sharing the info.

Still don't have my $925. When I heard the news, my car was still registered in Ontario and I'd just moved back to BC. I frantically called Ford support, and updated my address over the phone (tied to my VIN). Hopefully it actually went through, because I'd hate to have that $925 go to a Toronto apartment I no longer live in.

HybridDragon - those numbers are definitely more realistic than the 4.x-ish range. I can get below 5 L/100km under serious ideal highway conditions with cruise control on, or if I torture myself on a hot day by leaving A/C off and the windows down. But 99% of the time, I get 5-6, and as bad as 8-9 if I'm stuck in traffic or just accelerating too much on a hot day with the A/C on.

My commute to work is somewhat hilly, so when I go to work (more uphill) I get 5.8-6.4 L/100km, but coming back (downhill), I get 4.6-5.7 L/100km.

Also the mpg conversion you state is imperial, not US. The original US rating was 47 mpg which is 5.0 L/100km.
