Capability and Style: 2015 Ford Expedition Ready for the Open Road with EcoBoost Engine, Advanced Technology

Recommended Posts

Would be nice to build and price one now to see what it has to offer and how much. Though lack of Adaptive Cruise would keep me from wanting one.

I loved my 2000 Expedition, drove it 165,000 miles.

Towed all kinds of stuff, transported all kinds of people, it was a great vehicle for it's era.

If I needed that type vehicle now these new models would sure tempt me.

After towing my new trailer with the MKT with less than 2000# gross weight, the tranny seemed to not want to upshift, and when I arrived home the MKT had a funky smell like hot oil. While it pulled the trailer like the F150 did, these two items have me concerned that towing with the T is not that good an idea. I did tow my much heavier horse trailer with my Flex and had no issues pulling it, and considering the only difference is the body style, the T should pull without problems. If it continues to have shift issues under load and smells hot, then will have it inspected and if nothing found will most likely get something else instead for towing. I would hate to do that but burning out the PTU or tranny would become very expensive.
