kylersk Report post Posted June 30, 2014 I purchased a 2014 Fusion Hybrid SE a little over a month ago. It came with a dealer supplied lifetime powertrain warranty for as long as I own the car.Should I just bank the money that I would spend on a premium care warranty from Flood Ford ESP or make the plunge and buy it? The last time I purchased an extended warranty was on my 05 F150. I extended the warranty to 5 years 100,000 miles. My tranny went out at 110,000 miles, so I'm a bit thrown off about spending the money.

Joe Sofia Sr. Report post Posted June 30, 2014 There are probably a bunch of financial machinations you can go through to make your decision. My typical rule of thumb is if a car isn't problamatic early in it's life, it's probably not worth it.But having said that, my two month old fully loaded electronic oriented Titanium Hybrid has had it new car issues (faulty control module and keyless entry keypad) already so to me it is making more and more sense, if but to get some peace of mind.I probably will just redirect the $750 Ford Hybrid MPG miscalculation rebate into an extended warranty if but to give me the peace of mind that I won't be out a significant sum of money in the cars later years as I typically drive cars to their grave. GrySql Report post Posted June 30, 2014 I bought the Flood Ford Warranty, this is a very complicated car and I want to keep it a while, I like it.If you buy an extended warranty, do it before your first 12,000 miles or one year point, it's less expensive. 1 Joe Sofia Sr. reacted to this
acdii Report post Posted July 1, 2014 I got a 5 year 125K mile warranty. I put about 25K a year on, so 5 years will be at least 125K. My dealer matched Flood pricing.
