53 Legend Report post Posted June 18, 2014 Hello all! Monday I picked up my 2014 FFH SE with 502A package in Sunset, with Dune interior, and I am absolutely loving it! Got an amazing deal thanks to USAA car buying service and paid well below invoice! Kicked off the experience with a 40 mile trip home from the dealer and got 42mpg. 350 mile trip on day 2 and improved slightly to 42.7mpg. The car really is beautiful and rides like a dream! I've had the chance to read a few threads on here over the last week and really learned a lot. I look forward to keeping up with things! 3 B25Nut, TomCinMI and Nick Golden reacted to this
TomCinMI Report post Posted June 18, 2014 This is now a solid, mature technology, & you've chosen very well. I'd definitely recommend doing the intial 1,000-mi. break-in per the manual, & I don't plan to much monitor my fuel economy 'til after 5,000 mi., since Ford bills 3,000-5,000 as a full break-in. TomCinMI Report post Posted June 18, 2014 ... 53 Legend (or whomever's kind enough to reply), I've done everything I can imagine--via FAQ's/tutorials/snooping around on the site--to figure out how you attached the thumbnail pic to your post, hopefully so such a pic would show up whenever I post. Would appreciate if you'd point me in the correct direction on this, thanks.
53 Legend Report post Posted June 18, 2014 Tom, I posted from a computer and at the bottom of the page was an option to attach an image. It only attaches to the post I add it to, but you may be able to add an image to your signature if you want it to continuously appear when you post. 1 TomCinMI reacted to this

Search photobucket you be able to find a couple threads. Photobucket wasn't a good choice but here is a link that might help get you started. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6693-forum-features-questions/?fromsearch=1 Edited June 19, 2014 by corncobs 2 hybridbear and TomCinMI reacted to this

Take a few hours while sitting in your parked new car and read the manuals cover to cover twice. It will multiply the value of the bucks you spent on the car. Contrary to what Ford and many others here say I believe there is little to no vehicle break-in. Most new models are sold in the Fall when temperatures are falling and mpg goes down for all cars particularly hybrids. Few meet EPA numbers then and Ford tells you the car needs to break-in. It doesn't. There is very little in new cars to break-in anymore. When Spring comes mpg improves so people think there's a long break-in period. The break-in period is for the driver and that is big. There is little friction in modern cars and the modern oils do away with most of that from new. For this same reasons these cars should last a LONG time if they got the LiIon HVB design right. Enjoy ! ! It's a lot of fun ! 1 hybridbear reacted to this

Enjoy ! ! It's a lot of fun !I totally agree about the part about reading the owner's manual, AND about the car break-in period being a fallacy, at least for the FFHs. But the rest of the observations above by lolder are based on if you live in the Northern part of the country. :) So if you live in the Southern, hot parts of the country, the temps will also be dropping in the fall, but the MPGs will be going up in the fall, not down. So if you are like me and purchased a FFH in the Southwest in the spring, then your MPGs will be high at that point in Spring. But then when you reach the desert off-the-chart temps in the summer, the MPGs will most likely start dropping. And if you are in the South, your MPGs will rise once again after Fall gets here. :yahoo:
