Auto Headlight Question

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to adjust when the auto headlights come on? It has to be pretty dark before mine come on, so I frequently find myself manually switching them on in the evening.

Nope. Mine come on at just the right time on the Z. The FFH... um, I will have to ask, as I am not the primary driver. :)

Put some window tint or Scotch tape colored with a marker over the sensor on the dash. Mine come on at night just fine but during stormy/overcast weather they hardly turn on consistently. This should fix that though.

I have the auto wiper option and the headlights will come on automatically after the wipers run for a short amount of time.

You can do what Terps mentioned. The other thing I do is place a dark cloth over sensor when I want them to come on. That's why a kept a new black washcloth in the car. Toss it over the sensor, and the lights come on.

It seems to me that easier than doing that would be to just adjust the switch with your left hand...

for the sensitivity setting yes I agree. :)

Every cheapo outdoor dusk sensor has a little screw to adjust when the light comes on it can't be that hard to have the option / setting in a car as well.

Not really. I usually drive with my left hand. My right arm is usually on the arm rest. The black cloth is on the seat. It's quicker for me to just grab it and toss it over the sensor. No changing hands on the wheel, no fumbling for a switch I don't usually use.
