machoman1337 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 Reminds me of this news article I saw about how a BMW in Boston got the same treatment... owner parked next to a hydrant and there happened to be a real fire! 1 hybridbear reacted to this

GrySql Report post Posted June 8, 2014 I've seen that done numerous times, with no hesitation. Water to the fire means potential lives and property saved. That red curb is there for a reason. The Rookie probably stepped back and took the picture for evidence. We used to leave a Citation or have the LAPD take care of it. 2 kuzzi and hybridbear reacted to this
GrySql Report post Posted June 8, 2014 We used to do a thing called 'hydrant testing', every year, every hydrant in Los Angeles was tested and painted - many, many, many thousands of them.If they leaked we tightened the gland nut, if they still leaked they were reported to our Hydrant unit and replaced/repaired.Then one year it was reported that almost every brass hydrant cap (covering the 2-1/2" and 4" outlet threads) were missing, they were stolen for the brass. Some of those older hydrants were very old, ancient almost. The caps were replaced with plastic or fiberglass caps. So ended an era of trust. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
djminfll Report post Posted June 9, 2014 Did the FD break the windows? It looks like glass pieces over the door handle. It looks like they did, and deservedly so! Does the owner of this car really think his convenience is more important than the safety and well being of everyone else? Hopefully, when the fire department was finished, they had the car towed. What a jerk! 1 GrySql reacted to this

acdii Report post Posted June 9, 2014 I hope they dumped a ton of water inside the car when they pulled the hose. On our way home we saw a fusion with a damaged fender that had a mounty just pulled around behind it. No one was in the car, but it looked like there was something behind it too. Not sure what he/she hit.
