hello

how often shall i check ford fusion se hybrid 2013 oil ( both motor and gear oil ) ?

what kind of oil shall i use ?

i have a new fusion walked 7000 mile till now , is it time to check the oil now ?

if not when should i do that ?

I check my engine oil every month. I change it every 10k miles.

Normally its 10K in these. If you live in hot dusty conditions, change it at 7500.

You should check the oil level at least once a week for the first 2000 miles or so and then less often after that if there is no usage.

 

I believe that the first oil change is recommended at 5000 miles and then maybe longer after that depending on conditions.

The owners manual for the 2013 FFH says to change engine oil every 10,000 miles or sooner if the car decides it needs it.

 

I personally wouldn't take the advice of my dealer about how often to change oil. They keep telling me I need to come in every 5,000 miles and when I pointed that the owners manual says every 10,000 miles they said they wouldn't feel comfortable trusting Ford's advice on this. Of course the real reason is that they want to make extra money off of unnecessary oil changes.

 

I do have them put in full synthetic oil when I do an oil change.

Per the manual of the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid: change the engine oil at the earliest of: (1) one year; (2) 10,000 miles; or (3) when the computer tells you to. Personally, I get it replaced at 6K miles.
