OK, it is common for it to happen in Colorado, but not in Illinois.

 

SNOW!

 

Yeah, snow, in the middle of May, some actually sticking to grass and trees.

Freeze warning here for tonight. Hopefully the rain will stop before the temps drop so we won't see snow. It looks like I'll have to cover the garden.

Actually I am, there is an A Cappella group called Straight No Chaser who did Jolene with Dolly, Very nice job of it too. I also listen to Frank Sinatra, and other Rat Pack singers. The only thing I don't listen too is the new POP crap or C'rap. I hate screeching repetitive warbling singers.

Crazy! That's like the weather we had last year. At least we haven't gotten any more snow here and it's supposed to hit 70 on Sunday for only the 2nd time this year or something silly like that. I can't wait!

Yes, all of my fruit trees have buds on them. This could be a disaster for me. Last year I lost my apples and peaches to a freeze but my pears did well.

My wife called me earlier being concerned about our sun sail collecting all the snow and ripping it down.

Hopefully all the plants are doing alright way too many sitting outside already including tomatoes and cumbers.

Hit 32, so who knows. Our garden hasn't been planted yet. We started seeds, but for some reason they all died. They started growing and looked really good, then the next day, all shriveled up. Soil was still moist too.

How bad was it? Our coldest night was 36 or 37 so the plants here should be ok. Of course, that temp is at our apartment in the city where we benefit from the "urban heat island" effect. Out in the country it may have been colder.

We had a frost advisory overnight but I think the clouds stayed around longer than predicted so it did get too cold. Probably in the same range 34-36 but we did cover all our plants just to be sure way to many to let them die.
