bz101 Report post Posted May 14, 2014 I just got my 2014 Energi (which is a great step up from my 2010 Fusion Hybrid). But I'm having an issue with the SirusXM traffic that I haven't seen listed in this or any other forum. The connection to Sirius seems fine (i.e., I can see all the Travel Link info and when listing all the options in settings they show as "subscribed"), however traffic rerouting and alerts seems to be non-existent. On the map in the NYC area, I do see the red traffic lines and the updated ETA reflect the flow of traffic, but if I go to "Traffic On Route" it says there are no incidents. Even on a 165 mile drive where it says 2h:30m and then after downloading the traffic flow it added 30+ minutes to the ETA (now shows 3h:04m) I see "no incidents on route" when checking the corresponding Travel Link screen. I also see no pop-ups alerting me of a traffic incident and I am not offered an alternative route. I have the rerouting setting set to "manual" and show all traffic alerts to "on". Even with "automatic rerouting" it doesn't do anything. I've refreshed the SiriusXM link (which I don't think is the problem since the red lines and ETA accurately reflect traffic flow) and I did a Master Reset of the system. No luck. Anyone ever seen this or know how the traffic alerting / rerouting is supposed to work? I would think I should be alerted of the traffic delay and given an alternative to accept or reject. Ideally it shows me the mileage and ETA difference as well. Thanks!
acdii Report post Posted May 15, 2014 It worked when I had the trial, but only when I had a route programmed in NAV. Other than that it only showed traffic flow and construction markers if no route was programmed.
Riggo Report post Posted May 15, 2014 (edited) I also wish the nav would alert me of traffic incidents and slow traffic ahead. It's a shame it only alerts me of traffic incidents when I have a destination selected, and even then it rarely alerts me. I understand it can't predict where I'm going unless I tell it where i'm going, but on a major interstate one would think it would signal an alert of accidents or construction ahead. bz101 Report post Posted May 15, 2014 Odd. I have a route planned and it still only alerts me if there is an accident not if there is just slow traffic (no matter how bad the normal traffic is). It'll update the ETA just fine, but no alerts and no offer to re-route (with manual or automatic settings). I'm an electrical engineer and work with technology for a living and can't seem to figure this out. I think the traffic integration is just very weak with the system apparently. murphy Report post Posted May 15, 2014 If it can't find an alternate route, that is better than the one that you are on, it can't reroute you. 2 acdii and hybridbear reacted to this
