How do you know that ??

 

I think he was referring to all trim levels of the Fusion Hybrids... S, SE, Titanium...

Wrong IMO because the engine has to run in the morning anyway so by running it lower it's more efficient to charge the battery while the engine is warming up.

 

I posted about a year ago about 'sneak out mode' in the 2013 hybrid, where the HVB would be very low but still enough to get started down my driveway and downhill for 9/10 mile (regen'ing all the way) down to the main road... that same 9/10 mile uphill was perfect for EV+ as it let me stay on EV while the HVB went lower than it would have otherwise - and thus use that last bit of EV to hit some really good MPG commutes last year.

 

So maybe in many cases it doesn't offer a great advantage, but it sure did work well for me when I had the hybrid.
