Mikey1234 Report post Posted April 23, 2014 Hey Forum! I just got a 2010 Fusion as the first car I have ever purchased and I am loving it so far.Is it possible to put the FoMoCo stock touch screen nav head unit in a Fusion with the standard head unit? If so, would the hybrid information work on the new unit? I realize I should call a dealer about this but I thought I would look here first! Sorry if this topic has been covered already, I did a quick search around the site and could not find anything.
Waldo Report post Posted April 24, 2014 It's very complicated since everything communicates over the network, so you need to reconfigure many, many modules and the dealers are not trained to do this. Plus there will be a lot of wiring that will need to be modified.
machoman1337 Report post Posted June 8, 2014 Don't bother. The radio unit isn't designed to be hot-swappable like a Corolla or similar. A LOT has to be re-done in the car to make it look like the factory nav was installed. I'd just buy a Garmin - it works better, the maps are more up to date, and your passenger can actually enter destinations while the car is in motion! New ones also have extremely useful features like speed limit display and lane assist (showing you which lane to keep to for your next turn on a multi-lane road). 2 hybridbear and corncobs reacted to this
tr7driver Report post Posted June 12, 2014 I recently saw a mustang with a 3g iPAD installed in the dash. I think the conversion was actually done with commercially available dash parts that made it look factory. You can run any app on it and play music through the sound system. It was quite impressive. Waldo Report post Posted June 12, 2014 You can do anything with enough time and money. I know a guy who has a full 2010 Ford factory nav system (including Sync) installed in his 1999 Mercury Cougar. But he spent a lot of time and has a lot of "inside knowledge" that is required to get it to work. 2 acdii and machoman1337 reacted to this

Something you dont see on a plane of this scale. When the gear is extended, the doors are closed, When you hit the retracts, they open up in sequence, gear retracts, and then close in sequence. When they are lowered, same process. Spent a lot of time and money on this plane to get it working, so yeah, anything is possible.
