looking to buy hybrid titanium

My local dealer I used doesn't carry any Hybrids. I've used this dealer for 20+ years and never shopped elsewhere. The wife is wanting to trade her 2012 Fusion and purchase the hybrid titanium. Where do most of you look to purchase cars online? Autotrader or elsewhere - I've never shopped for cars this way.

Why don't you just have your car custom built at the factory and use your local dealer for the purchase?

Yeah, I would suggest getting it done custom, too. I doubt you'll be able to find much online - I think you can only buy used cars online and there won't be many 2013/2014 models available. If you order a custom Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium through a dealer you can get the exact color and options you want and it would also allow you to stick with the dealer you know (assuming you like them).

Just order it through the dealer. They love that kind of sale (no inventory costs). One word of caution, make sure your dealer is savvy on the FFH. Without knowledgeable support and service, you might want to work with another dealer ...

I put in for Ford Fusion Hybrid within 150 miles of my zip and the first page is filled with HyTi's. If you find one nearby see if your dealer can obtain it for you, after working out a good price of course. To get a good price, go to truecar.com.

There is a good and bad side to the above approach -

 

Good - dealer knows you, values your loyalty, and offers a good price because of it.

 

Bad - dealer knows you and knows you won't go anywhere else, and exploits that loyalty and inflates the price as they know you won't go elsewhere.

 

Hopefully, for you it's the first case above, but worth doing a little online research on edmunds.com or cars.com as mentioned above to see if there are numbers showing what others in the area have paid, etc.

Is that because they don't wish to stock them and are not prepared for servicing them, or is it because no customers have come forward to ask for them? I would ask the dealer first and see what their response is before you start looking.. If they want your business and are ready to leap into the 21st. century the experience can be fun for both parties. You will always have the upper hand knowing you can go on line and know the true costs when it comes time to bargain.

 

However if they refuse to order it for you because they don't have people trained to service the car, appreciate their honesty and move on. You might have to look a little further and deal elsewhere, but that can be fun too. And of course you have your support network right here to guide you. :thumbsup:

Maybe thru a Costco dealer? I couldn't use them because of where I live, i.e., no local dealer.

So you are saying that a local Ford dealer won't sell you the car? Because they won't order one? I don't understand why, if they are a Ford dealer, they won't order you a hybrid. Is it just me, or does this not make sense, if the dealer is a Ford dealer.

Good point made above tho is are they capable of servicing the car.

You can 'build your own' car on Ford's website and at the end it has a spot that you can click that asks if 'we can find one like it for you'.
