msudawg Report post Posted March 16, 2007 My '07 SEL i-4 5spd has the heated leather seats and they are not turning off automatically after 15 minutes. My '06 F-150 Lariat has the same heated seats and they turn off after 15 minutes. The manual states they should turn off automatically. I took it to the dealer, they changed a part on both seats that did not fix the problem. They say that the seats are working "the way they should" but I have to press the button to turn them off. That does not sound automatic to me and is not how the F-150 works. Anyone have the heated leather seats? Is yours an '07? Do your seats turn off automatically? I think the problem is that the "parts changer" aka mechanic does not know what he is doing. Any info would be appreciated. MSUDAWG
Dyoct Report post Posted March 17, 2007 Whoah cool, can I assume your name implies Michigan State?! On the 07 the heated seats have changed to stay on button wise, but only heat to a certain temp, shut off, cool, then turn on and reheat again without having to have the button repressed. The 06s would shut off after 15 minutes and never restart. My 06 Fusion does that and I dislike it. The 07 Milan does not, and I love it. However, both my 06 Mountaineer and Explorer had the seats stay on and adjust temperature automatically. But that is a huge issue still with Ford vehicles that the company is still working on. To get consistency when it comes to climate, audio, seat controls, door handles etc. Example, I like the redudant audio and climate controls on the steering wheel on the SUV lineup over the controls on the Fusion/Milan. I hated how the heated seat control on the Mariner was literaly buried and out of sight by where the powerseat buttons are. I like how every other Ford or Mercury I've had has had the heated seat button on the dash, in sight. Just crazyass Ford as usual. :shakehead: PS. GO GREEN!!!! ctrcbob Report post Posted March 17, 2007 What does your owners manual say? My MKZ stays on until I shut the ignition off. I have three positions. Warm, warmer and warmest. When I switch it on, it stays on (to the setting I've set). Once I switch the ignition off, I have to reset the heated (and cooled) seats again. urnews Report post Posted March 17, 2007 We have an AWD SEL 2007 Fusion with heated leather seats. There is a high and low setting but they DO NOT go off automatically. Manual control, the button, only. They do go off when the ignition is turned off and DO NOT come on automatically again when the car is restarted. It is a totally manual operation on an '07 Fusion.
