Converted Prius Owner

Recommended Posts

I traded in my beloved 2010 Prius two months ago for my Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium. The Prius was my second and I really like it but the Fusion is a much nicer car. More substantial, better ride and better options. After 8,000 miles I realy do like the car. I do miss my 50mpg on the Prius though. My Fusion is getting a little less than 40. Anyway, I've deleted PriusChat from my favorites and now am a member of the FFY Forum. :love_shower:

Welcome and congrats!

Good to hear that this all so important and hefty discussed topic about MPG isn't the only reason to get and love an FFH.

Excellent! Curious, are both mpg quotes on a similar route/speed?

in my '14 FFH, I can consistently get 45 mpg to 55 mpg trip to trip on side roads (I live in the country). At highway, I"m at about 39 to 41 mpg with one weird highway trip a bit higher than that. There aren't many '14 people on here that I've seen, so I'm always curious about a fellow '14 FFH owner's results.

Welcome! Glad to hear you're enjoying it.

Your MPG will probably go up since those miles probably came mostly in the winter months. Fuelly currently lists the 2014 FFH average as 2.9 MPG lower than the 2013 FFH (37.5 MPG for 2014 vs. 40.4 MPG for 2013), which I think is due mainly to the fact that 2013 has been through a summer. Hopefully you end up at least into the low 40s.

Very similar to my 2014 mpg. My average since the last fillup has been hovering at 45mpg

The Prius has only one thing going for it, it gets great gas mileage, but as you now know, the Fusion has a ton more features and is a much nicer car all around. I averaged roughly 53MPG lifetime on the one I had, but I hated the car, it was scary to drive out where I live. Wait until the car breaks in, I have 20K on mine so far and it is so easy to get 40's now.

When comparing the MPG between hybrids, use gallons used instead of MPG. You would be surprised how little the actual difference is.
