tr7driver Report post Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) This seems like a doable DIY. I have been looking into this and can't find a shop to install one locally for a reasonable price. Their mark-up is sky high, plus installation. I looked at the instructions on a couple of web sites and it isn't rocket science. Plus some venders offer to sell replacement sections for cost if you screw it up. I'd like to hear from anyone who has done this -- or would be glad to volunteer to help someone considering it in the area some weekend this spring. Maybe we could do a clinic at one of the parks, with enough cars maybe we could get a vendor involved. I have done a couple of convertible tops and some pin striping, so I figure I can probably handle this. Thoughts? acdii Report post Posted March 17, 2014 If you ever did window tinting, you could do this. It's basically the same thing, make sure the paint is clean, and dust free, and work in an area with no breeze, and in shade. I have been thinking of doing it myself on the Fusion and MKT this spring.
Toz Report post Posted March 17, 2014 there is also the 3-M spray on invisabra. As soon as it gets warm enough here I am going to do that. It's in the $80 range.

I'll have to look into it. Be sure to let us know how it goes on and how you like it after you install it. My 2001 Highlander has the same film used on the bra on the rear wheel arches ahead of the back door, and it has held up well over the past 13 years. It was factory installed and is doing a great job protecting the paint.
