djminfll Report post Posted February 27, 2014 Is it just me, or does Ford have the WORST ads on TV for their cars, but particularly bad ads for the Fusion/Hybrid? A few weeks ago, they had some ridiculous "Strange but True" ad, where they gave strange facts (i.e. Mona Lisa doesn't have visible eyebrows), then followed with "You can lease a Fusion Hybrid in 60 minutes or less." Really? That's what you want to stress about this technologically advanced vehicle? Now they are running another dumb ad where the guy says that the Fusions Hybrid gets double the average fuel economy, so he wants to double the awesomeness of everything. Then his house doubles in size, the shrubs in his front yard become gigantic animal shaped topiaries, and his cat named "Sprinkles" become a jaguar or leopard that chases him around the black FFH. If I was undecided on a car, these would do NOTHING to convince me to look at the Fusion! 1 hybridbear reacted to this

GrySql Report post Posted February 27, 2014 Fords Ads are either corny, boring or leave the viewer confused about the point they are trying to make. Why not put a FFH and a Prius on the Bonneville Salt Flats and have a 0-100mph drag race, then show the EPA numbers - do something dramatic! 1 hybridbear reacted to this
SteveB_TX Report post Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) How about the silly "talking" Lincoln MKZ Hybrid commercials! Now those are dumb. :zombi: Edited February 27, 2014 by SteveB_TX
tr7driver Report post Posted February 27, 2014 I'm not sure Ford has figured out who buys hybrids, eco boost engines and v6 power plants enough to market them properly. 1 hybridbear reacted to this
B25Nut Report post Posted February 27, 2014 I think Ford's pre-game Super Bowl commercials for the FFH did a good job of showing off the Fusion's great looks. I think they will be part of the reason the FFH's sales lead over the TCH will show an increase for February (I hope). 1 hybridbear reacted to this
djminfll Report post Posted February 28, 2014 The earliest commercials were good, and I liked the Honda guy who is converted to Ford Fusion when he drives it, but this was not for the Hybrid. They almost got it right with the idea of the "nearly double" campaign, but the guy in the ads comes across as an idiot, and the bushes, cat and house getting bigger is a stupid idea. They should have showed the FFH running errands alongside a Camry, an Accord and a Sonata, and show when each car runs out of gas and how much further the FFH runs after the other two are eliminated. Provided of course they all hold the same amount of fuel. The Honda has a farther range due to a larger tank. But those commercials are stupid. At least the Lincoln commercials focus on the car and what it has to offer over the competition. 2 djminfll and hybridbear reacted to this
