Some rattle I guess is typically OK but when its more audible than the music playing its an issue... Hoping I don't have to visit the dealer.... mrobinso8 Report post Posted February 1, 2014 I have a rattle in my 2013 also. I thought it was coming from the center screen but my wife's super ears found it was coming from the passenger side rear door. Noise was present when going over any road with even the slightest roughness. If door panel is just taped by hand noise is present. Called dealer this morning and they will fix under warranty. Taking in Tue am. Dealer very cooperative since I have almost lived there the last year with 12 volt battery problems which seem to have been fixed. ChrisAshton84 Report post Posted March 20, 2014 Good to hear it isn't just me. I bought a (used) 2013 Titanium Hybrid a week ago, largely to have the better stereo. I was really disappointed when I heard the passenger side woofer buzzing during certain songs or even when certain people were talking. This was at 50% volume, sometimes lower. murphy Report post Posted March 20, 2014 Since the woofers are horizontal if anything got through the package shelf it would be laying on the speaker cone. The other possibility is a warped speaker coil that can touch the magnet when it moves. Or maybe one of the mounting bolts is loose. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

acdii Report post Posted March 20, 2014 I get a random buzz in the passenger door, but its random, and only happens once in a blue moon. I do have a thunk when the car is loaded, that is driving me nuts,and the dealer cant find it since, of course the car has to be loaded with 3 adults and 2 children to hear it. The other thought I had was it could be resonance at certain frequencies causing the TSB for door rattle, but mine was built on June 5 2013 so it's not under the period that TSB covers. I used a frequency generator app on my phone and pushed it through the car stereo to isolate the frequency. It occurs between 60 and 120Hz (which is where all the good bass is) and it ends up shaking the ENTIRE door panel on the passenger side. The rest of the panels were rock solid.They will see what they can do and I will test it again when I get it back.I've been meaning to try something like this too - Ford replaced the speaker (wrong fix in my mind) once already but it immediately started buzzing / rattling for me. I ran right back to the shop but when the mechanic sat in the passenger seat it didn't happen nearly as much. I suspect them pulling on the door to close it momentarily tightened up whatever was loose - after driving for a while it's started loosened up and rattles. There is a TSB for passenger door rattle, but mine was built after that TSB's valid period. When was yours built? Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

thrasher086 Report post Posted August 5, 2015 I am experiencing this problem too and brought it into my dealer. I was told they can't replicate it which just means to me that they didn't want to look into it. It is obviously there if you listen loud enough and at a certain tone. I just crank the music a bit more :)The problem with rattles is that you think you've isolated where it comes from but then it seems like It's coming from somewhere else.
