That's why when we've tried to help frustrated owners understand their MPGs we often have to convert it to gal/100 mi to show them that they are doing quite well!

I guess I am being stubborn LOL but:

 

25 MPG at 100 miles is 4 gallons which is 4 gallons per 100 miles ... aren't we saying the same thing?

 

45 MPG (Fusion) at 100 miles is 2.22 gals which is 2.22 gallons per 100 miles :detective: Me thinks there is a pattern ... LOL

 

Their test question is very misleading. Of course replacing the SUV with a car that doubles it's mileage is going to be better than replacing the car with one that get significantly better mileage. The SUV is the hog not the station wagon ..... :spend:

$42 a month for me. I put 2000 miles a month on. It adds up quickly the more miles you drive and does make a difference in the end. It is also $3.50 a gallon here, I wish we had $3 a gallon, which comes out to $49 a month. Or to put it in a larger perspective, $588 a year.
